You have to write a business plan on an individual basis. It should be about a construction related
business that you want to do. It could be either directly related to construction (buildings, bridges,
roads, dams etc.) or any of the services related to buildings e.g. plumbing, painting, electricity, carpentry
etc. or it may be the supplier of supplies e.g. cement, sand, steel, wood, windows etc..

You should get guidance from my Ch. 11 notes. But the idea should be entirely yours. Follow the pattern
as mentioned under the heading “the elements of a business plan” in my Ch.11 notes. I would explain
some of the points here.

Your plan should consist of the following details.

1. The Executive summary :- For the financial part, don’t go into much details, just mention how much
finances you would be putting initially.

2. Mission Statement :- If you would want to start up a new company or it would be an existing family
business.

3. Only if the company already exists then you have to write the company’s history.

4. Business Strategy :- From the notes

5. Description of Firm's product/service :- From the notes

6. Marketing Strategy :- From the notes

7. Showing Customer Interest :- From the notes

8. Marketing Considerations :- From the notes

9. Competitor Analysis :- From the notes

10. Description of the Management Team :- From the notes

11. Plan of Operation :- From the notes

12. Forecasted Pro Forma Financial Statements :- No need to cover this topic

13. Loan or Investment Proposal :- From the notes

Emphasize more on the marketing strategy, it should prove that the chances of your business’s success
are high. Complete this assignment by 10th June. I would be putting Assignments 3 and 4 marks based
