Part I)

You will be designing a filter using MATLAB that will filter your signal, given the output with your
selected frequencies.

a) Based on the time domain plot of your signal of interest comment on what type of audio effect you
want to realize.

b) Give a block diagram of your design. Clearly state the system function H(z).

c) Provide a Pole-Zero plot and a magnitude frequency response plot of the filter.

d) Filter the signal of interest using your filter.

e) Compare the output of your filter to the original signal.

f) Explain the methodology used to determine the coefficients of this filter.

Part II)

Describe your schedule (number of discussion sessions, hours spent at the computer, etc) and your team
organizational approach to solve this problem.

Provide a formal report including conclusions (English or Spanish). The report should also include a CD
with a commented m-file that demonstrates your results.
