ASSESSMENT 2 – CASE STUDY
SCENARIO: Bounce Fitness is a business in fitness industry like a gym. During its
expansion, Bounce Fitness left the Centres to function as independent autonomous units. But
then, in the interests of increasing customer satisfaction, Bounce Fitness later decided to
standardise the (common) way in which the Centres operate. Few complaints received from
clients/customers has lead to make this change happen.

Now Bounce Fitness top management intend to use the same systems which will be
developed and documented in Head Office, the same customer service techniques, and the
same fitness class routines which will be changed monthly and again issued through Head
Office. It means more unified operations protocol, rather diversified.

The Board and Executive are very keen but expect resistance from the Personal Trainers who
all believe that they create better routines than the Head Office could. The Centres, staff, and
clients have not been informed yet. This is because of timings of operations, customer service
protocol, sales target and customer engagement benchmarks to be achieved, which has been
designed by the head office.

You have been given with the responsibility of developing a detailed organisational
development plan for this initiative which clearly addresses what strategic planning is to be
developed and why and how development will occur.

OBJECTIVE: You have to develop a strategic plan to implement the change. Prepare a
report that states how this strategic plan complies to organisational development plan and
the communication plan relating to devised changes.

SUBMISSION: Submit a report in printing with estimate of 600 – 1000 words of standard
format. Encouraged to use charts and diagrams. Encouraged to use similar case studies
research to construct the report.

SCENARIO: To conduct a brainstorming session within your training group as specified by


the Assessor. The topic must be one beneficial to the development of your organisational
development plan and approved by your Assessor before use.

OBJECTIVE: You have to take in to account a topic that is leading to organization


development or continuous improvement process. It may be a technical or management
aspect of improvisation. You may refer to internet research to find a topic and then you
demonstrate your skills relevantly. The brainstorming must last ten minutes and, as the
facilitator, you must ensure that all the points mentioned in the criteria listed in the checklist.

SUBMISSION: Your Assessor will complete this checklist table as they observe your
