“ENDANGERED SPECIES,HOW CAN WE PRESERVED THEM?

RAFAEL JEM DV. MUTOC

JANUARY 2020
CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION

Human populations have increased dramatically over the

last few hundred years, mirrored by similarly expanding

pressures on the natural world, a strong movement concerned

with the well-being of nature has grown in response. At its

core, this environmental movement seeks to promote the

sustainable harvest of natural resources, to preserve

natural landscapes, and to protect biological diversity.

Integral to these central principles is the preservation of

species, for species provide humanity with renewable

natural resources, shape and animate natural landscapes,

and bind together complex natural systems.

Endangered species is a type of organism that is

threatened by extinction. Species become endangered for two

main reasons: loss of habitat and loss of genetic

variation. As human global mobility increased drastically in

the second millennium AD with the development of oceangoing

craft able to navigate oceans and as peoples from one

continent began harvesting resources from another, the

human–nature balance was disturbed.

Development can also endanger species indirectly. Some

species, such as fig trees of the rain forest, may provide

habitat for other species. As trees are destroyed, species

that depend on that tree habitat may also become

endangered. Tree crowns provide habitat in the canopy, or

top layer, of a rainforest. Plants such as

vines, fungi such as mushrooms, and insects such as

butterflies live in the rain forest canopy. So do hundreds

of species of tropical birds and mammals such as monkeys.

As trees are cut down, this habitat is lost. Species have

less room to live and reproduce.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This focused on how can we help to save Endangered

species and help them not to become extinct.Specifically

this study answers the following questions:

1. What is the effect of habitat loss to animals?

2. What is the effect of endangered species being

extinct to humans and other animals?

3. Could people do anything to help endangered species

breed more and save their kind?

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

This study generally aims to determine the effect of

Endangered species being extinct and how can we save them.

This study,specifically,aims to:

1. Determine the effect of habitat loss to animals.

2. Determine the effect of Endangered species being

extinct to humans and other animals.

3. Describe if people could do anything to help

Endangered species breed more and save their kind.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of this research is to help us conserve

and save animals. Conservation of animals is important to

protect the endangered plants and animal species along with

their natural habitat. The main concern is to preserve the

habitats so that the future generations of wildlife and

even humans can enjoy it.

The research will also be beneficial to the following:

Student. The results of this research would help them to

learn more about the important role of animals in our

ecosystem.

School administration. The result of this research would

help them in planning, conducting activities and programs

that would help animals to reproduce and ensure their

safeness.

Parents. This research would help them to learn more also

about the signifant role of animals in our life and for

the future. This would be a great help for them to guide

their children become Eco-friendly.

Future reserchers. The results of this study would serve

as a basis and support for the effectiveness of saving

animals so that they would not be endangered and end into

extinction. It may also serve as a reference material for

those researchers who wants to develop their researches

related to this study.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

This study focused on Conserving and saving animals to help

them boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no

matter how small, it all has an important role to play. The

scope of our research are limited to (10) students from

AClC-NAGA who wants to cooperate and help conserve animals.
