Evaluation is a process in which an educational
and training procedure is compared with its
programmed goals to find out their fulfillment.
Evaluation refers to a periodic process of
gathering, analyzing or organizing data

stated objectives and anticipated
results.

Educational institutions usually

funders and other stakeholders, and
• to provide a measure of performance
for marketing purposes.
Evaluation is necessary to ensure
ongoing relevance, coherence,
balance, and progression within a
curriculum.

Evaluation can monitor the curriculum


and should be viewed as a positive
process to enable the deliberate
development, implementation and
maintenance of a quality academic
course or program.
Evaluation of teaching can have many
purposes, including:
 collecting feedback for
teaching improvement,
 developing a portfolio for job applications,
or
 gathering data as part of personnel
decisions, such as: reappointment or
promotion and tenure.
 Evaluating student learning takes time
and effort, but well-designed tests and
consistent grading procedures provide
students with valuable information
about what and how they are learning.

educational activity to transfer, motivate
and acquire knowledge and skill.
Educational evaluation is applied to find out
learners’ achievements and diagnose
educational outcomes, and plays a vital role
in improving the education quality.
It is regarded as an ongoing and ruled
process of describing, guiding and
making sure of the educational quality.
Results showed educational evaluation has
different functions and applications some of
which are recognition, syllabus revision,
comparison and needs analysis.
