    This document reports the results of experiments studying the morphologies, growth temperatures, reactions to litmus milk, and spore counts of Bacillus cereus, B. stereothermophilus, and B. subtilis. Gram staining showed all three were gram-positive rods, and spore staining identified spores in B. cereus and B. subtilis. B. cereus and B. stereothermophilus grew at thermophilic temperatures, while B. subtilis grew at mesophilic temperatures. All three reacted to litmus milk. Spore counts were measured in various foods.
