Subject: Supply, Installation Supervision, Start Up and Commissioning of Screen Units

Dear Sir,

You are requested to provide a competitive bid for the following item(s) in accordance with the specifications,
drawings,.etc as given in the attachment. Please indicate the price basis and other price elements separately in the bid.
1- Complete Screen Units.
2- Installation Supervision, Testing & Commissioning.
3- Other associated accessories and devices as per project documents and for successful system operation.

Scope of Work shall include but not limited to the following:-

1- Design, Engineering works for the supplied equipment.
2- Installation Supervision, Testing, Commissioning of all supplied equipment.
3- Providing all required Commissioning Spares (if any) for successful system operation.
4- Providing of 1 Years Operation Warranty.
5- Providing of Test Certificates for the supplied material.

Your proposal shall include but not limited to the following: -

1- Pricing Schedules, including breakdown for the scope of work.
2- Technical proposal comprising of BOQ, Drawings, Data sheets, Catalogues, Brochures, Curves,..etc.
3- List of inclusions and exclusions.
4- Reference list for similar Projects.

You are requested to submit your offer on or before the deadline indicated above in two parts; Priced (Commercial

 PART I

GENERAL AND TECHNICAL CONDITIONS

1.1 SCOPE OF TENDER

This Tender comprises the supply, erection and handing over to El-Behera Water & Wastewater
Company who will be stated as “Owner” in the rest of this document, in perfect condition and
excellent working order, of the mechanical and electrical equipment for three new Sewage
Pumping Station located at Badr District, El-Behera Governorate.
Tenderness are responsible, on their own cost, for carefully studying the sites conditions,
accessibility roads and available transportation facilities, to consider it in their cost and work
execution time schedules.

1.2 QUALITY OF PUMPED WATER

The pumping stations shall pump partially screened sewage water containing a considerable
amount of solids, rags, vegetable refuses, grit, sand, etc. The water is moreover partly septic.

1.3 WORK LOCATION

(OWNER) reserves the right to change the sites of the stations as it may deem necessary to avoid
any unforeseen difficulties underlying the choice of that site without any obligation arising from
the part of the Contractor.

1.4 CLIMATIC CONDITIONS

a. Air Temperature:
The mean air temperature in shade is 37.5o C.
The minimum air temperature in shade is 7.5o C.
The maximum-recorded summer temperature in shade is 45.0o C.

b. Water Temperature:
The maximum water temperature is 35.0o C.
The minimum water temperature is 10.0o C.
The average water temperature is 14.0o C.
The average water temperature in summer is 26.0o C.

c. Barometric Pressure:
The maximum barometric reading is 770 mm Hg. occurs in January.
The minimum barometric reading is 746 mm Hg. occurs in July.
The mean barometric reading is 758 mm. Hg.

d. Relative Humidity:
The average yearly relative humidity is 77.0 %.
The minimum yearly relative humidity is 39.0 %.
The average humidity during summer is 61.3 %.
The average humidity during winter is 74.3 %.

e. Dust:
The air at site is sometimes charged with a considerable amount of fine sand.

4. Each extinguisher shall be completed with a wall-mounted bracket and a sign in English
and Arabic giving operating instruction, which shall be fixed, in positions designated by
the Engineer.
2.8.4 Basket Screen with collection bin
The pumping station shall be equipped with one basket screen to be installed in the sump inlet.
The screen, in order to prevent solids from entering into the pump station sump and consequently
protect the pumps from such big solids, shall trap solid contents in the sewage water. All
components of basket screen including body, bars, base and top plates shall be made of stainless-
steel 316. The basket screen shall have the base and top from suitably sized stainless- steel with
special treatment against the effects of sewage water and emitting gases.
The overall dimensions of the screen shall be as indicated in the relevant drawings. The
thickness of the base and top plates shall be not less than 1/2”. The stainless- steel bars (cage)
shall be of nominal diameter not less than 20 mm and the spacing between any two successive
bars shall not exceed 50 mm clear distance. The basket components i.e. top and base plates
together with the body shall be assembled by welding. The basket screen shall be installed on
reinforced concrete cantilever inside the pump station sump. The basket screen shall be lifted
periodically for cleaning of the screened matters. In its vertical travel, the screen shall be guided
at least by two round stainless steel pipes of not less than 2” nominal diameter. The screen body
shall be provided with two (No.), guide bearings.
The lifting action shall be effected by suitable stainless steel chain to be hooked from one end to
the top of the basket while the other end shall be hanged on the top of the guide bar.
A portable collecting bin of at least 0.3 m3 capacity shall be provided with the basket screen for
easy collecting of trapped solids.
2.8.5 HORIZONTAL & INCLINED SCREEN (made of st.st 316)
The pumping station shall be provided with a screen. Solids flowing with sewage water shall be
trapped inside the screen to prevent them from entering the sump. The screens shall be of
stainless steel grade (AISI 316 ) bar construction. screen shall be constructed of stainless steel
base and angular reinforcement stainless steel bars interconnecting between them. The main
dimension of the screen are shown on the drawings. screens are inclined at 60 degrees The
thickness of the base and top plates shall be not less than 10 mm. The stainless steel bars shall be
50 mm clear distance. Elements of the screen shall be assembled by welding. The screen, when
in operation, shall rest on reinforced concrete inside the wet well of the station. After being full.
2.8.6 Dewatering pumps for draining:

5.7.8 Diesel-Driven Stand-by Electric Generating Unit (Portable)

The diesel generator unit shall be according to General technical specifications as per item (2.9)
The generating unit rated output shall be 300 KVA (Prime power rating).
 (The Engine rated output shall not be less than 385 HP)

5.7.9 Spare parts

All mechanical & electrical spare parts shall be according to General technical specifications as
per item (2.10)
