invite Young and Emerging Evaluators

from Eastern Europe, Central Asia & South Caucasus to participate in

Summer school STEP INto Evaluation career is the 4-day training, which will be held between
July 30th and August 2nd, 2018 in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova.
During the school, participants will gain knowledge on basic theory and principles of
program/project evaluation including gender-sensitive evaluation and evaluation of SDGs. The
program will be conducted by an experienced international evaluator with the support of three
facilitators – young evaluators with regional experience.
The target audience for the program is Young and Emerging Evaluators (YEE) from Eastern
Europe, Central Asia, and South Caucasus region. It will bring together evaluators satisfying one
or more of the following criteria:
- under age of 35 years, AND/OR
-evaluators who have less than 5 years of professional experience, AND/OR
-recent university graduates (5 years or less post-graduation), who are interested in joining the
evaluation career; AND/OR
-development professionals who have relevant technical knowledge and, within the past 5 years
or less, have expressed an interest in becoming professional evaluators.
The working language of the School is Russian, working knowledge of Russian is required;
good knowledge of English is an advantage, but not criteria of selection.
The participation in the Summer School is free of charge.
However, you or your sponsor organization should pay for your travel and accommodation costs.
We are still looking for the sponsors' support in order to provide scholarships for covering these
costs. Currently, our funds are very limited. Please, try to find opportunities to cover your travel
and accommodation expenses.
The Summer School is the first part of the regional program STEP Into Evaluation Career, which
also includes short internships (2-3 months) in the local and regional organizations and
participation in the mentoring program (app. 7 months virtually).
