Protein
Proteins are large biological molecules consisting of
one or more chains of amino acid residues.
Proteins are associated mainly with cell growth and
repair, but also fulfill other roles within the body.
Protein
Amino acids can be placed into three categories:
Essential amino acids: those which cannot be
manufactured by the body.
Non-essential amino acids: are made by the body from
essential amino acids or the breakdown of protein.
Conditional amino acids: are usually not essential except
in times of illness, stress or a medical condition.
