A building-level education leader applies knowledge that promotes the success of every student by collaboratively
facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a shared school vision of learning
through the collection and use of data to identify school goals, assess organizational effectiveness, and implement
school plans to achieve school goals; promotion of continual and sustainable school improvement; and evaluation of
school progress, revision of school plans supported by school-based stakeholders and local agencies. In so doing,
the building level leader ensures effective and ample use of technology in establishing, implementing, evaluating,

1.4 Program I developed a communication plan for a program meant to reach students and families EA 7940 –School
Communication Plan who are struggling academically. The goal of the program was to provide a dedicated Community Development
time and space with multiple layers of support from teachers, parents, and students.

2.1 Oversee Extracurricular As the administrator in charge of clubs, I oversee see and consult on a lot of events Internship
Activities during the school year that promote school culture including; homecoming, Activist
Week, Colts Care Week, a dodgeball fundraiser, Earth Week, and Thank You
Thursdays for teachers just to name a few.
2.2 District Mathematics As one of three administrators on the district’s mathematics committee, I help design, Internship
Committee plan, and lead district staff to apply best practices in the classroom around the
curriculum that is supplemented by technology that enriches the learning.
2.3/2.4 Teacher Evaluation I work with the teachers from our mathematics and science departments to develop Internship
Process student-growth and professional goals. I also observe those teachers and help them
reflect on their practices to develop growth plans.
2.3 Ethical Belief Statement I created an ethical belief statement for leadership that outlined my beliefs as an EA 7720 – School as a
educational leader. My goal is to build capacity within the staff through a student- Formal Organization
centered approach that involves professional development and community engagement.

3.1 Test Supervisor for As the test supervisor, I oversee all aspects of assessment at the building level. We Internship

community resources on behalf of the school by collecting and analyzing information pertinent to improvement of

with families and caregivers; and cultivating productive school relationships with community partners. In so doing,

4.1 Human Impact Project Positively affect student learning by supporting teachers and students work through a learning Internship
experience that involved creating partnerships with experts in the field and brought families in
to showcase the students’ learning.
4.1 All-Night Party Worked with a parent group to plan, design, and throw the senior All-Night Party, which is a Internship
culminating event following graduation ceremonies. The group also galvanizes financial,
human, and materials resources from businesses in the community.

4.3 Jennathon Worked on a committee for a non-profit organization that hosted a 5K and 1 mile run at our Internship
facility. The group also garnered financial, human, and materials resources from businesses
in the community. Funds from event support families who have children with life-threatening
illnesses.
4.3 Community I worked with three of my peers to create a community engagement plan that would allow us EA 7940 –School
Engagement Plan to reach students, staff, parents, and community members about the effects of social media Community

4.3 Troy Youth Assistance In responding to new legislation regarding restorative justice, I have made referrals to Troy Internship
Youth Assistance, which is a non-profit organization committed to strengthening youth and
families by preventing and reducing juvenile delinquency through community involvement.

6.1 Failure is Not an Option I wrote a paper analyzing the successes and areas for growth for my school’s EA 7720 – Schools as a Formal
Paper mission, vision, and goals. The paper also provided an opportunity to reflect on Organization

district. This includes thinking about fiscal and material decisions while including

6.3 Four-Frames Paper When writing the Four-Frames paper I chose to examine our districts experience in EA 7720 – Schools as a Formal
deciding on how we want to roll out 1-to-1 technology at the high school level. Organization

perspectives of structural, human resource, political, and symbolic.
6.2/6.3 Board Policy Review I had an opportunity to interview our Superintendent in order to review board EA 7780 – Educational Law
policy. I wrote a reflection on the process siting the strengths, improvements
needed, and ways to revise the current policies.

7.1 Internship My internship, which includes all of the responsibilities in my current job as an assistant Internship
principal, has provided me with many opportunities to sustain and expand my leadership
footprint in the building, around the district, and throughout the county. This work
includes, but is not limited to, working with the county cluster regarding New Pedagogies
of Deep Learning (NPDL), the district’s technology, mathematics, and NPDL committees,
and Continuous Improvement, Building Leadership, and more at the building level
7.3 Mentors My official mentor is the principal at Troy High School, which is where I am an assistant Internship
principal. I also would include another assistant principal at Troy High as an unofficial
mentor. Beyond this, I have a tremendous amount of respect for all of the other building
and central office administrators in our district and learn a lot from them each time we work
together.
