Name of the place and location: T’boli, South Cotabato, Philippines

2. Geography: The municipality of Tboli consist of 25 barangays with a total area of 91,527
hectares is situated on the Southernmost portion of South Cotabato. On the North, it is bounded
by the municipalities of Surallah, Banga, and Tupi, on the South by the municipalities of Kiamba
and Maasim, on the West by the municipality of Lake Sebu where boundaries are defined by
Allah River; and East by the municipality of Polomolok, and the City of General Santos
3. Geology: Historically the morphology of Tboli which characterized by the mountain ranges and
crater lakes was formed by the interactions of tectonic plates along the Philippine, Cotabato,
Negros and Sulu trenches. It took million of years for mountains to form. A group of mountain is
called a range . Between the Jurassic and Cretaceous Period, ( at geologic time, under Mesozoic
Era which dates back from 240-138 million years), this process took place until the Quaternary
Period of the Cenozoic Era Geologic Time 1.6 million years ago.
4. Climate: The municipality has an average temperature of 23.950 Centigrade. The warmest
month is March and the coolest is January. It has annual rainfall ranging from 1,042 millimeters
to 2,184 millimeters, the heaviest of which occurs on the month of June and the least fall on the
month of March.
5. Religion: The T'boli believe in a seven-level upper world inhabited by many
gods, foremost of whom are the couple, Kadaw La Sambad and Bulan La
Magoaw. They had seven sons and seven daughters who formed couples. In
T'boli belief, a spirit or force lives in all objects, animate and inanimate. The
T'boli make offerings (including bracelets) to the spirits of rivers and forests.
Parents will place a sword by sleeping to children to protect them from evil
spirits. 
6. Social and Political: T’Boli society is ruled by a datu who assumes several roles. He
has social, economic, religious and political functions. There are a number of datus in
the T’Boli society with varying degrees of power, fame and status achieved or ascribed
by the datus to themselves and recognized by their followers.
7. History: This Tribal group is still living in a traditional way., comparable with how
their ancestors lived centuries ago. The T'boli distinguish themselves from other
Tribal Groups by their colorful clothes, bracelets and earrings, this tribe is famous
for their complicated beadwork, wonderful woven fabrics and beautiful brass
ornaments.A T'boli legend tells that the T'boli are descendants of the survivors of
a great flood. A man named Dwata warned the people of an impending great
flood. But the tribe refused to listen, except for two couples, La Bebe and La
Lomi, and Tamfeles and La Kagef. Dwata told them to take shelter in a bamboo
so huge they could fit inside and in this way survive the flood. The story tells that
the first couple are the ancestors of the T'boli and other highland ethnic groups
The second couple descended the other Filipino indigenous groups.
