Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): This activity engages students by first watching a short video with
multiple examples. During the video the student is able to pause and work through an example for extra
time. The ability to access this tool at multiple locations can help create a learning environment that is
unique to students in today’s classroom.

Lesson idea implementation: The use of this tool will be for the student to use throughout the instruction.
Khan Academy is filled with several practices, assessments, and videos that the student can access. I would
first have the students make an account at the Khan Academy website. This creates an account for each
student. With that, I can track and collect student data for each lesson that I create for them. Once an
account has been related, I will release the video and practice examples after lecture has been covered. The
students will complete the video and practice examples and await the release of the assessment. After the
assessment has been taken, the results and data are recorded and filed onto a spreadsheet to track progress.

Reflective Practice: I have used Khan Academy myself for some college classes I have recently taken. I found
this tool to be extremely beneficial to help keep me on track alongside the lecture part of class. The videos
alone are valuable when facing difficult lessons.
