Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Level(s):

Levels of Technology Integration:

☒ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☐ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students will work together to achieve this activity. Students working
together encourages creativity and collaboration. Kahoot has features to increase font size and add in
pictures, this can help to further students understanding of what the question is asking for.
Lesson idea implementation: Students will be placed into groups of 5 and instructed to work together and
create a Kahoot that will be presented to the class when completed. This is based off of a 15-student
classroom so there will be 3 groups total. Students will move to sit with their groups and then a
representative from each group will retrieve a laptop from the classroom laptop cart. Groups will then be
assigned one of 3 categories (Countries, Lakes and Rivers, Mountains and Deserts). Students will have 45
minutes to create their Kahoot which must include pictures of the features or places being described in the
question. The teacher will walk around the classroom and assist with technical difficulties or group
disagreements.
Once the groups have finished their Kahoots, they will present the Kahoot to the class and have the class
test out their final product. The goal of this activity is to have students collaborate to produce a helpful study
tool to be used by the entire classroom. This lesson will conclude with the teacher giving the class feedback
on the quality of their final products, and the students will be asked their opinion on this activity (how well
did they like Kahoot, did they feel this was an easy task and why or why not etc.) This activity could be
improved by using it as an end of the year review and having students pick their own topic to create a Kahoot
on before sharing it with the class.
Reflective Practice: I feel that this activity helped students reinforce their knowledge of the material as well
as helped students to learn more about working in groups. One could further extend this lesson by having

students individually create Kahoot quizzes and then having them review the Kahoot quizzes created by their
classmates. I feel as though Kahoot is a great tool for this lesson however a GPS tool or Google Maps could be
a great tool to show students where these landforms and countries are in comparison to their location.
