Coronavirus in Chhattisgarh LIVE Updates: COVID-19 count reaches 2,018 as 70 more

The number of COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh increased to 2,018 after 70 people, including
a CAF personnel and two doctors of a government hospital, tested positive on Friday, officials
here said. The Chhattisgarh Armed Force personnel was posted on security duty at the official
residence of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel in Raipur, they said. As many as 103 patients
were discharged from different hospitals across the state on Friday, they said. "Of the new
cases, 18 are from Janjgir-Champa, 17 from Surguja, nine from Raipur, eight from
Balodabazar, six from Jashpur, four from Mungeli, three from Rajnandgaon, two from Bilaspur
and one each from Durg, Koriya and Balrampur," a health official said.

Coronavirus in Telangana LIVE Updates: Three deaths, 499 new cases in state
In a major spike in COVID-19 cases, Telangana on Friday saw 499 new virus cases and three
deaths being reported, taking the infection count in the state to 6,526 and fatalities to 198. Out
of the 499 fresh cases, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the hotbed of
the infection in the state, accounted for 329 cases, followed by Ranga Reddy district,
neighbouring Hyderabad, with 129 cases. A state government bulletin said 3,352 people have
been discharged so far, while 2,976 were under treatment. According to the bulletin, 2,477
samples were tested on Friday. Cumulatively, 50,569 samples have been tested. It said 34
hospitals have been identified by the government for COVID-19 treatment. The number of
earmarked COVID-19 beds were 17,081 and the number of beds occupied was 976. The
number of vacant Isolation Beds in the COVID hospitals was 10,970 and those with oxygen
support in the COVID hospitals was 3,227.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra LIVE Updates: 3,827 new cases reported in state, 142
deaths
The number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra rose to 1,24,331 on Friday with 3,827 new
patients reported, the state health department said. With 142 deaths recorded during the day,
the count of fatalities due to the infection reached 5,893, it added. On the other hand, 1,935
patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the number of recovered coronavirus patients
to 62,773. So far, 7, 35,674 people have been tested in the state. The recovery rate in the
state is now 50.49 percent while the fatality rate is 4.74 percent, the statement said. Out of
142 deaths, 124 were reported from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) alone, including
114 from Mumbai. Out of the 7,35, 674 samples tested so far in the state, 16.9 percent or
1,24,331 tested positive for virus.

Coronavirus in Pakistan LIVE Updates: Pak to get $1.5 billion international aid to tackle
COVID-19 pandemic
Pakistan on Friday signed agreements with three international financial institutions for USD
1.5 billion aid in tackling the coronavirus outbreak and strengthening the social sector in the
country. Prime Minister Imran Khan was present during the signing of the agreements with the
World Bank (WB), the Asian Development Bank (ABB), and the Asian Infrastructure
Investment Bank (AIIB), according to a statement from his office. The amount will be will be
disbursed in the next few days, the statement added. The ADB will extend support of USD 500
million to COVID-19 Active Response and Expenditure Support Program (CARES), with the
objective to support Pakistan's efforts to strengthen the health system and mitigate
socioeconomic impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. The AIIB will give USD 500 million to the
CARES to augment the government's efforts to mitigate the direct and indirect impacts of the
pandemic.
