Articles

1. We do not use an article before next and last + time expression (when they mean before or


after now).
2. We don't use an article before names of languages and school subjects.
3. We do not use an article before names of years, months and days of the week.
4. We do not use an article before plural or uncountable nouns to talk about something in
general. In this sentence we are talking about computers in general.
5. We use the to talk about specific things or people; when it’s clear which things or people we are
talking about. In this sentences we are talking about the computers in our office (NOT
computers in general).

Adverbs:
1. We use adjectives before the noun (careful driver), and we use adverbs after the verb (drives
carefully).
2. In this sentence we use adjective + noun (clear English).
We use adverbs of manner after the verb but if there is an object, the adverb goes after verb +
object.
We can also say verb + object + adverb: He didn't speak English clearly/well.  (NOT He didn't
speak clearly/well English).
3. We need an adverb because it goes after the verb (drives).
 Slow is an adjective (slowly is the adverb), and *fastly does not exist. Fast can be an adjective
or an adverb.
There are some adverbs that have the same form as the adjectives: fast, hard, early, late, right,
wrong.

Going to

 I’m going shopping this afternoon. (=I’m going to go shopping this afternoon.)
 We are going to Cyprus next summer.  (=We are going to go to Cyprus next summer. )

WILL OR SHALL
We use Shall I…? or I’ll when we offer to do things for other people.

We use Shall we…? to suggest doing something.

Possessive adjectives are always singular.


(GENERALNO, ADJECTIVES NEMAJU MNOZINU, npr. Different, ne differents ili ne importants)
We use he-his and she-her for people, and we use it-its for things. But in plural, we use they-their for
people and things.Its = possessive adjective. It’s = it is (subject + verb be).
We use it's to talk about time and weather. For example: It’s six o'clock. Let's go home.
