Companies Department is one of the SCA's departments. According to the
SCA's organization chart, It is considered to be the Chairman's consultant ,
through which planning and continuous follow – up of the SCA's affiliated
companies is efficiently done to achieve the budget's goals.
The Companies Department should, therefore, take decisions concerning
the aims of its affiliated companies, the way of improving them, and the
efficient use of obtained resources to achieve those aims.
Companies Department comprises 7 companies, the total Capital 519
million Egyptian pound, by which approximately 8000 workers are employed.
They are as follows :

3. Canal Harbour&Great Projects Co.
4. Suez Shipyard Co.
5. The Canal Naval Constructions Co.
6. The Port-Said Engineering Works Co.
7. The Canal Rope Co.
 Canal Mooring & Lights Co.

Main Activities:
Mooring Activity:
 Mooring and unmooring of vessels transiting the Suez canal or arriving at
Egyptian ports( Port Said, Suez, Sharm El – Sheikh, Nuweiba and Ein
Sukhna), in addition to the ships waiting at Ballah By – pass.
 Providing transiting vessels with floating units and crew required for
mooring services.
Lights Activity :
 To comply with the Suez Canal's Rules of Navigation, all transiting vessels
should be equipped with light projectors of special technical specifications.
So, the company can serve standard light projectors to transiting ships upon
request, in addition to providing them with highly -skilled electricians.
Other Activities :
 Laying water & gas pipes and electrical & telecommunications cables
underground by using a high technical innovative process to achieve precise
and pre – determined location at certain spots.
 Gas detection works.

Main Activities :
 Building of different types of vessels, marine units, tugs, fast service
launches, passenger boats and lash boats.
 Specialized in the design, construction and maintenance of all types of
mooring systems, platforms for oil industry, beacons, dolphins, pilot & Light
buoys, sea berths and quays.
 Formatting and construction of all steel works such as: fuel & water tanks,
pipelines, siphons and barley & corn storage silos.
 Ship repairs (docking of floating units up to 1500 tons for maintenance and
repair).
 Renting marine units and tugs to oil companies
 Dredging works.
 Carrying out underwater welding & cutting operations by a well-equipped
and qualified salvage team who obtained IMCA certificate

 Capital & maintenance dredging for Harbors, navigation channels and water ways

Main Activities :
 Repair and maintenance of ships and different marine units transiting the
Suez Canal, as the company owns a floating dock (up to 55000 tons), a dry
dock (up to 800 tons) and synchrolift of 900 tons lifting capacity.
 Building of marine units (floating cranes, barges).
 Manufacturing and installation of steel structures such as: lighting towers,
tanks, hangers, storage silos and marine scaffolds.
 Manufacturing and maintenance of pipelines of all diameters.
 Installation of water and sewage pipes.
 Manufacturing pontoons and dredging discharge pipes in addition to
maintenance of dredging equipment.
 Manufacturing fibre glass mill blades.
