INVENTED GAME: CHA-CHA

History/Background
The game, similar with kickball but with minor modifications, contains elements similar
to baseball, softball and soccer. No history was ever recorded regarding the name of the game
but the objective of the game is for one team to score more runs than the other, thus winning the
game.
Venue:
The game should be conducted in a large area wherein players are free to move. It is
recommended to play it on outdoor or in a field but indoor settings with a huge space is also
applicable.
No of Players:
Any number of people can play, but it is usually played between 5 to 15 members per team.
Materials/Equipment needed:
 Ball
 Chalk
 Sports Attire
Mechanics in playing Modified Softball
1. The class will be divided into 2 teams. The groupings would be in a manner of bato-bato-
pik. The winning group would also get to decide which group hits first.
2. Unlike in regular softball, the ball is to be hit using the player’s foot.
3. A game lasts for 6 innings and is split into two sections; the top and bottom of the
innings.
4. Each team “bats” once in each innings before the sides switch.
5. The fielding team has a pitcher, catcher, a player on first base, second base, third base,
three deep fielders and short stop.
6. A “batter” must successfully strike the ball and run around as many bases as possible.
Once they get all the way around and back to home plate without being given out a run is
scored.
7. The fielding team can prevent the batsmen by making them miss the ball, catching the
ball, tagging one of the bases before they reach it or tagging the batsmen whilst they are
running with the ball in hand.
8. Down the first and third base line is a foul area. Once the ball crosses this line before it
bounces the ball is deemed ‘dead’ and play restarts with a new pitch.
9. A home run can be scored by hitting the ball over the outfield and into a dead ball area.
The batsmen can then stroll around the bases to score along with any additional batsmen
on base.
10. An inning would end when 2 batters are out or when all the batters of the team had
batted.

How can a batter or runner be given out?

A batter or runner is out in the following circumstances:

 If the ball the batter has just hit is caught without first bouncing.

 The ball is thrown to a base before a runner gets there.

 A player running between bases is tagged by the ball (touched by the ball or the glove of
the defending player).

 If three strikes are called by the umpire.

Scoring System:
1. The team with the highest score would be having a grade of 1.00 and the non winner
would be getting 1.50.

Values/Skills needed:
1. Agility
2. Honesty
3. Precision
4. Sportsmanship
