5. Set up and Alignment
5.1. Powering setup:
All ports of PCT-MT3646PD are set up for power passing as standard setup. In
case, it requires to block the power at any port, please pull out the corresponding
fuses that are named on the face plate. The maximum power passing of each
single port can not exceed 10 A.
Note: The fuses adapt 15 A current that are the same as regular fuses for car used.
It can be replaced upon the powering situation in the field.

5.2. Signal adjustment:

a. Plug in all the selected modules. After the in/out port are connected, please
adjust MS-86/18 (or FS-86/*) to make the output signal having the expected
level and tilt.
b. In case the fixed value EQ is selected, it only requires to adjust MS-86/18 (or
FS-86/*) to make the output signal that has the expected output level.
c. In case the fixed value equalizer and attenuator are used, they doesn’t need to
be adjusted and please just check the in/out signal whether it matches the set-
up value.
d. In field application, the pre-adjustment may have performance deviation due to
cable loss, connector loss or in/ out distribution loss. Thus, when using the
fixed value EQ, please check whether this amplifier still needs a practical
modification for field application.
Note: 1. When set up the ER, EQ’s level, the AUX OUT level is according to LINE
OUT level and can not be set up individually.
2. The test point (OUT TP –20 dB) is accuracy only if the main output port
(LINE OUT & AUX OUT) is connected or loaded.

5.3. Setup and Alignment of automatic level & slope control (ALSC-04):
a. Plug-in the ALSC-04 module on position after the signal adjusted as mention
above.
b. Setup of signal level switch (Input level)
When the output level is in between 86 ~ 98 dBuV, please toggle the switch to
the position “Lo”. If the signal level is in between 96 ~ 106 dBuV, please
toggle to “Hi” position.
Note: The sensitivity of ALSC is detected when power loaded on the full channels.
Therefore, in case the channels are half loaded, the detective sensitivity will low
down 3 dB. Namely, ward the detected range must be upgraded 3 dB. See the
chart below: (Unit: dBuV)
12ch 24ch 36ch 48ch 60ch 80ch
Lo 94~106 91~103 89~101 88~100 87~99 86~98
Hi 104~114 101~111 99~109 98~108 97~107 96~106

8
c. Turning the VR on ALSC-04 module (counter clockwise) to the max. position
and plugging in it’s right position, then tune the ALSC’s ADJ VR to obtain an
output signal level that is equal to the expected output level, the ALSC is
completely setup OK!
Note: 1. The VR tuning speed can not be too fast. It is needed to check again whether
the output level is stable after turned 3 ~ 5 second thereafter.
2. If the output level is still changing continuously, the ALSC detection is out of
order. Please check the switch for level adjustment whether it has a correct
setup. This problem may be caused from the loaded channels which is too
less to reach a certain power level that it should be
3. If the loaded channels are less than 20 ch, it is recommended that the
output level should not be less than 95 dBuV

5.4. Setup of Reverse Path:

If no amplification is necessary for the return signal, please plug RB-J0 in. On the
contrary, in case the return path require an amplification, please plug RA-*-*
(see no. 6, in Fig. Internal Installation and Usage).
In latter case, it may need to adjust the gain and tilt VR at RA-*-* to obtain the
expected return output level.
Note: 1. The input level of return signal is measured at “OUT TP”.
The output level of return signal is measured at “IN TP”.
2. When measuring the signal at test point, please make sure there is a signal
connection or loading in main input port (LINE IN).

9
6. Installation
6.1. The length of in/out connectors center pin can not be longer than the plastic
protection cover. Should be within as shown in drawing.

6.2. When main AMP. Module is plug into the housing, please screw the
pedestal and housing tightly (2 screws, 25 kg-cm min.)

6.3. PCT-MT3646PD requires a grounding to keep out from lighting and surge
voltage which may happen unregularly.

6.4. A good waterproof procedure must be applied on every I/O connector. For
instance, it can use a waterproof heat shrink tube or waterproof tape for
sealing.

6.5. Before the top case is mounted with the bottom case, please must check the
rubber gasket and mesh wire that are positioned at its proper location. This
also can obtain a good waterproof condition.

6.6. While screwing both top and bottom case together after completing all the
adjustment, please wrench all total 6 hex-screws on their positions. Don’t
tighten firstly. After that, please use a hex-spanner to tighten each pair
screw symmetrically in their balanced direction for all 6 screws at the
second wrench.(80 kg-cm min.) This procedure makes sure the final seal of
amplifier that is safe without the possibility of water leakage.
