SUBJECT: FINAL ADJUSTMENT AND MODIFICATION OF THE ZAMBOANGA CITY


LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN (LCP); REQUIRED ACTIVITIES FOR JUNE,
JULY AND AUGUST PRIOR TO FIRST DAY 2020 OF SCHOOL YEAR
OPENING; AND MINIMUM STANDARDS TO BE OBSERVED THROUGHOUT
THE DURATION OF THE COVID 19OR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021

1. Pursuant to DepEd Order no. 007, s. 2020 School Calendar and Activities for School
Year 2020-2021, SDO Zamboanga City adapts and implements FINAL ADJUSTMENT
AND MODIFICATION OF THE ZAMBOANGA CITY LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN (LCP);
REQUIRED ACTIVITIES FOR JUNE, JULY AND AUGUST PRIOR TO FIRST DAY 2020 OF
SCHOOL YEAR OPENING; AND MINIMUM STANDARDS TO BE OBSERVED THROUGHOUT
THE DURATION OF THE COVID 19OR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2020-2021

2. Considering Guideline no. 11 of enclosure no. 1 of the same DepEd order which limits
the class size into 15-20 learners, the School’s LCP is hereby modified to suit the
following requirements:

2.1 The original 50% attendance at any one time shall be reduced to comply with
the maximum 15-20 class size requirement.

 This means that if groups of learners, when divided into two shall exceed
the maximum of 15-20 class size, the excess shall be formed into another
group or section and shall be prorated accordingly to conform to the
maximum class size limit.

2.2 The original 2 days and 3 days meetings alternate schedules per group shall
now be reduced to a uniform of 2 days each group of learners.

 This means that each group shall have a uniform of two days each per
week.

For example:

Group A will have Monday and Tuesday, while Group B will have
Wednesday and Thursday whole-Day sessions.
or
Group A will have Monday and Wednesday, while Group B will have
Tuesday and Thursday whole-day sessions as the case maybe.

 Schedules by groups shall be fixed permanently for as long as COVID


19 pandemic remains so as not to confuse the learners and may not
cause inconvenience on the part of the parents.

 The remaining day which is Friday will be devoted to Home Based LoT
for the learners.

For the teachers, this shall be the best time for them to prepare their IMs
and activity sheets for the following week. This will also be their best time
to check on the previous School - Based TNL and Home - Based LoT
outputs of their learners. This day also may be utilized by the school
administrators for LAC sessions and progress tracking.

2.3 The Compressed Curriculum Guide Syllabus (CCGS) which contains the Most
Essential Learning Competencies (MELC), shall now have the following
modifications:

 The column for the “Remarks” shall now be the space for lesson log of
the teachers as the “Teaching and Learning Flow” is a sufficient guide
for the “walk-through” classroom observer to inform him/her of the flow
of the lesson.

 By converting the remarks column into a lesson log, teachers shall no


longer be required to write a lesson plan/lesson log. Only when he/she
will have the COT schedule will a semi-detailed lesson plan be required.

 Instead of writing a lesson log or plan, majority of the effort and time of
the teachers will now be devoted to preparing the IMs, the activity
sheets, the checking the Home - Based LOT outputs of the learners, and
designing meaningful lessons for the benefit of the learners.

3. Aside from the webinars and orientations online, the required activities to be
conducted for June, July, and August prior to 2020 school year opening shall be but
not limited to the following:

3.1 Clean-up and disinfection of school premises and classrooms.


3.2 Orientation with parents, teachers, and other stakeholders on GCQ, COVID
Health Protocols, and school policies related to the “New Normal” provided

that physical social distancing and prohibition of the mass gathering must be
observed.
3.3 Preparation of the classrooms for the new normal where collaborative work
among pupils is prohibited.
3.4 Enrolment and re-sectioning in accordance with the maximum class size
requirement of 15-20 as long as the situation of the school warrants.
3.5 Profiling of learners according to their capability and economic capacity for
distance learning (e.g. availability of home wifi connections, gadgets, laptop,
etc).
The result of the profiling shall be the basis for the teachers together with
the parents for the design of the “Modified Individual Learner’s Agreement
(MILA)” between or among the learner, the teacher, and the parents. Such
learnership agreement shall take into account among others: the mode of
teaching and learning and the schedule and type of assessments to be done.
All these must always conform to the principle of “Custom-fit-for-purpose
education” which best serves the needs and interests of the leaners without
compromising quality. A sample template of the learnership agreement shall
be designed by the CID team and shall be issued on a separate issuance.
3.6 Teaching staff meetings for the preparation of the teacher’s loads and master
class program.
3.7 Inventory of existing LM’s in consonance with the MELC.
3.8 CCGS references and teaching and Learning flow portion shall be filled-out by
the teachers.
3.9 Making and designing Homebased LOT activity Sheets, IMs, and rubrics of
assessment.
3.10 Plotting the Budget of Work (BOW) by subject area and grade level.

4. Minimum standards to be observed throughout the duration of the COVID 19 or the


School Year:
4.1 Canteens may be allowed to open provided that the school
administrators/School Heads together with the canteen managers shall strictly
enforce the COVID Health Protocols of Physical Social Distancing and provision
prohibition
of mass gathering. Dine-in shall not be allowed. Learners and teachers are
encouraged to bring their provisions (baon) and eating utensils.
4.2 No entry for the following:
Anyone not wearing mask
Those exhibiting COVID 19 symptoms
Those who refused to have their temperature check
4.3 Recess and meals must always be supervised.
4.4 Prohibition of mass gatherings.
4.5 Other standards necessary to comply with COVID 19 health protocols.
4.6 All learners and teachers are strongly encouraged to bring their own
thermometer.

5. The ASDS, CID Chief, EPSs, and PSDSs shall be the ones responsible for the
enforcement, monitoring, and compliance. A report shall be submitted on or before
the first day of the opening of classes. CID shall design the report template.

6. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance of the contents of this


memorandum are directed.
