SHORT NOTES

SUPER COMPUTER

Super computer is largest and fastest machine. It can do work with the speed of up to 50
millions operations per second. These are very costly and no one can use it individually.
These are designed to perform complex calculations. The functions of super computers
are whether forecasting and satellite tracking etc. Cray Research and Intel are best
producers of Super computer.

PERSONAL COMPUTERS

Personal computers are also called Microcomputers. These are designed for
personal use of individual or individual’s small business. These are used in homes,
schools, college, universities, offices, banks, airlines etc. These are smaller and cheaper
than other types of computers. Desktop Computers, Laptop Computers, PDA Computers
and Palmtop Computers are examples of Personal Computer.

COMPUTE NETWORK

A computer network is a group of interconnected computers. It allows computer

to communicate with many other computers and to share data and information. In the past
days, single computer served all of organizational computer need, but now it has been
played by system called computer network.

WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM

Windows is most popular Operating System for computer uses. It is more

graphical than other types of Operating system. It is easier to use. It controls over all
activities of our computer. So by using windows we can do many of things at a time so
that’s why it is also referred as multitasking Operating System. There are many different
