URL(s) to support the lesson (if applicable):

Bloom’s Digital Taxonomy Level(s):

☒ Remembering ☒ Understanding ☒ Applying ☐ Analyzing ☐ Evaluating ☒ Creating

Levels of Technology Integration:

☐ Infusion Level: Students may work at a higher Bloom’s Level, but they do not have any “Voice or Choice”
during the activity and most of the decisions are made by the teacher.

☒ Integration Level: We would like to see ALL lessons/activities reach this level. The project is student-
driven. Students have “Voice and Choice” in the activities, selecting the topic of study and determining the
technology tool to demonstrate mastery of the standard. The teacher becomes more of a facilitator.
☐ Expansion Level: The projects created are shared outside of the classroom, publishing student work and
promoting authorship. This could be reached by showcasing the project on the school’s morning
newscast, posting the project to the classroom blog, or publishing via an outside source.

Universal Design for Learning (UDL):

This activity and the technology tools I selected support and enhance the learning experience for students
in the classroom by giving them the option of how they want to express their knowledge and understanding
of the standard. It allows for increased engagement as they are given the tools to produce a creative product
of their liking. Giving students a variety of options that all produce the same end goal allows for all learning
styles to be addressed thus promoting learning. The Google template helps students with their work by giving
them all of the resources needed to simply complete their assignment. It provides the framework. Students
who learn visually and need guidelines would benefit the most from this template as it maps out everything
required. Outside of the classroom, student work could be shared through the link that is provided once it is
complete and published. This allows for feedback from their peers and the sharing of their ideas/creation.

Lesson idea implementation: .

As I address the standard within my lesson plan, the teacher becomes more of a facilitator while the
students become creators. The project will be introduced as a final component to a unit focused on text types
and purposes which falls under the writing category in third grade English Language Arts (ELA) content
standards. This activity can be completed inside and outside of the classroom being that is on web-based
Google software. Within that being stated, students will be given class time to complete it. However, if they
cannot do so with the given time it can be completed at home. In general, this activity should take about one
to two days to complete with about a day of designated ELA time devoted to it. Student learning will be
assessed by a rubric of requirements this activity was designed to meet. The final product will be used to

differentiate learning by allowing students to utilize visual and verbal communication. This allows for different
learning styles to be addressed and coincide with each other.
Moving forward, to extend student learning to a higher learning level, students could be asked to evaluate
their peers' work or to create another piece of work demonstrating they understand and can complete the
standard. To conclude the lesson, after reviewing students’ final products, they will receive teacher feedback
and grading. This allows them to review their product and how well or better they could have done at
addressing the requirements. It allows them to learn while also gaining an understanding of what levels of
knowledge they should be able to display.
Reflective Practice:
The activity I created can impact student learning by prompting them to engage in a higher level of
thinking. This activity is complex as it asks students to draw back on or create an experience and then verbally
and visually explain it using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences. To further
extend this lesson, I could expand it to use several G Suite applications besides Google Slides such as Google
Docs. Students could have the option to create an e-book or just a written story. From there, students'
creations can be shared for all of their classmates to see and review. Being that G Suite encompasses all of
the Google software and its features, I would say that all of the technology tools needed to complete/
enhance this project are present. It is just a matter of how they are incorporated/utilized within the project
and what options students are given to complete it.
