My Secret Guest Posting Strategy 
 

 
1. ​
Look for contributors​  who are already on a magazine you want to be on ​ Forbes ​ for 
example. 
 
2. Send them an email. 
“Hey ____, you content is amazing. Keep up the good work. One day I hope to follow in your 
footsteps. Your number one fan, Mike” 
 
3. Send them a 2nd email. 
Point out a specific article and point out something they may have missed in it, then offer to 
discuss it with him/her. 
 
4. Send them a 3rd email. 
Bring up a new topic ­ and offer to put an article together ­ ask for an email intro to his editor ­ 
write the article for them. About 30% of people will make an introduction for you. So approach 
multiple people at once to get the result you’re seeking.
