Role of Online Platforms in Teaching-Learning in forced

isolation period
Now days, we all are going through very dangerous situation which is occurred due to novel
coronavirus pandemic. In this situation almost whole world is in lockdown.
Government/Universities/Private sectors has been decided Work from Home for their
employees. I think in education sector, teachers can do work from more efficiently than any
company employee. Teachers can do following using online platforms:

1. Prepare lesson plans for various courses.

2. Prepare innovative question papers/question banks.
3. Prepare innovative projects problems.
4. By learning from online videos, faculties can develop their own application to help
teaching-learning.
5. Learning from MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses).

Online courses plays very important role in today’s situation. This is opportunity for all of us to
develop ourselves with new technology. If we learn new technology, we can teach it to our
students.

There are various online platforms are available e.g. Coursera, edX, Udemy, Alison,
SWAYAM, NPTEL, Cursa, Khan Academy etc. These platforms provide us various
certificates, diploma & PG diploma courses. These platforms are partners with top universities in
the world (e.g. Harvard University, Yale University, University of Michigan, Stanford University
etc.). Some platforms like Udemy provides user to build custom courses from lessons. We can
develop our own courses for students.

I have completed following three online (MOOC) courses during forced isolation period.

1. Web Page Designing using HTML5 & CSS3. (on Alison)

2. Improve your English with free resources. (on Udemy)
3. Use of English phrases, Idioms & Expressions. (on Udemy)

These courses provide knowledge about how to develop web pages using new current
technology, Tips for improvement of English, Use of phrases, idioms, expression in English
communication.
