How to Get Started
Using O2 Orthodontic Laboratory
1. Call our toll-free number 800.547.2000 and request a free lab starter kit. This will be sent to
you at no charge. In it you will find packaging material to protect your models, a prescription
form, a fee schedule, a pre-paid UPS 2-Day delivery label, and the shipping box. If you require
Rx forms immediately, you may download them by visiting the Ortho Organizers Web site
OrthoOrganizers.com under the Laboratory section.

2. There is no need to pour your models in diestone. To save you expense, we recommend
pouring your models in yellow or buff labstone.

3. Once you receive the Lab Starter Kit, use the enclosed packaging foam to securely wrap your
models to help prevent breakage during shipping. If you prefer you may send impressions
which we can pour for a minimal fee. We accept PVS or alginate impressions. If sending
alginate impressions, please wrap in moist paper towels inside sealed plastic bags.

4. Place the wrapped models, and a completed Rx form, in the shipping box. Attach the UPS
shipping label to the outside of the box and fill in your return address.

5. Ordering the pick up: O² Orthodontic Laboratory provides inbound 2-day shipping at no expense
to you. Contact UPS at 1.800.PICKUPS for a pick-up, or drop-off at any UPS Store, UPS Drop
Box or other UPS authorized location.

6. If you are interested in receiving a consultation on one of your cases, simply indicate that you
would like a phone consultation on your Rx form, or call us anytime at 800.547.2000.

7. Once we receive your case, we will: disinfect the contents, list the contents
on the back of the Rx form, and review both your case design request and the
requested delivery date.

8. Fabrication begins the day the case is received, and is shipped back to you on or
before the fifth day.

9. The case will be shipped back to you via UPS. You will be billed for the return
shipment at our standard UPS Ground delivery rate, but we will send the case
back via UPS so you may have it in your office the very next day!

10. An invoice will be included with each case. If you are currently a customer who purchases
Ortho Organizers, MASEL, or ClassOne products, you will be billed using your regular terms
unless you would like to change them specifically for your lab cases.

Don’t Forget!
We also offer cephalometric tracing and analysis services. There are several ways you may send us your
cephalometric X-rays: Regular mail, UPS, email them to Ortho.Lab@OrthoOrganizers.com, or you can
upload them in the “Laboratory” section of the Ortho Organizers Web site under “Cephalometrics.”
(See instructions provided.)

The O² Orthodontic Laboratory cephalometric (“ceph”) tracing service

process begins when we import or scan your patient’s ceph into our
state-of-the-art computer system. Our system then clearly identifies
required markers for an extremely precise tracing with detail far
eclipsing the traditional hand-traced ceph. Model assessments are
handled in a similar manner with the model scanned into our system and
our software providing an acute assessment of the dental arches. Each Jackson Analysis Patient Name: Nancy Sample Diagnostician: John Doe Date (MM-DD-YY): 12/03/08

ceph X-ray and model is verified by our Quality Control team to ensure it
adheres to the highest standards. All information is then sent to you via
written report or as a digital PDF, depending on your preference.

Study Models
Study models are an important part of the diagnostic
process. They can help document tooth size, jaw
relationships, jaw alignment, and occlusal relationships.
In addition, they are an important visual aid when
discussing possible treatment options.

Removable Retainers*

Hawley and Circumferential Retainers

Hawley and circumferential (wraparound) retainers are
used to retain ideal tooth position after fixed orthodontic
treatment. As you can see, the design options available
for this kind of appliance are virtually unlimited.

*Immediate Retainers—Send us your models prior to de-bracketing your patients so that retainers are readily available at the time of removal.
This assists in preventing any potential shifting of teeth. The O² Laboratory technicians can accurately remove stone brackets from the models
to complete the retainer. Don’t forget to remove the archwires before taking the impressions.

Removable Retainers

QCM Retainers
QCM retainers utilize a clear labial bow providing
an aesthetic option for patients who would like to
take a more “invisible” approach to tooth position
maintenance. QCM retainers can be used on either
the upper or lower arch.

Invisible Retainers
Clear trays are another aesthetic option for retaining
ideal tooth position after the removal of a fixed
orthodontic appliance.

Indirect Bonding Trays

The use of indirect bonding trays can reduce chair
time and the potential for the improper placement of
brackets. The most common types of indirect bonding
trays are: the two-piece which has a soft inner tray that
holds the brackets, and a separate, hard outer tray; or
the one-piece soft tray alone to hold the brackets.
