AGREEMENT

Relative to the Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the University of San Jose-Recoletos’ operation is among
those greatly affected by the declaration of the government for an Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the City
of Cebu under Executive Order No. 064 Series of 2020, wherein a Mandatory Stay At Home Order is placed.

The University of San Jose-Recoletos is located at Corner P. Lopez and Magallanes Streets, Cebu City. It funded various
performance-based scholarships, one of which is known as "Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students
(READS)," which requires its scholars to render continuous READS duty including semestral and summer break and
shall render a maximum of thirty-six (36) hours of READS duty per week.

Relative to the pandemic mentioned above, the READS scholars are unable to perform their duties in the university
starting March 16, 2020, until the present; hence, a provision to render work/duty is not served, which is a
requirement to enjoy the scholarship privilege. Relatively, since no work/duty has been rendered, the scholarship
privileges shall not be enjoyed.

However, the Recoletos Educational Assistance of the Philippines (REAP) has recommended that in this time of the
pandemic, READS scholars shall continue to enjoy the scholarship privilege on school fees as part of the school's social
responsibility.

Provided, under the following conditions:

During the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) or Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) period
1) That, the READS Scholarship Program, a non-academic scholarship, will be elevated to an academic
scholarship, with a higher grade requirement of 2.0 per subject, from its usual cut-off of 2.5 per subject.
He/she shall not enjoy other READS scholarship privileges.
2) That, a READS scholar shall strive to maintain an academic grade requirement of 2.0 per subject;
3) That, a READS scholar who has grades below 2.0 in two subjects (ranging from 2.1 to 3.0) shall be deloaded
with three units on the succeeding semester;
4) That, a READS scholar who has three or more subjects with grades below 2.0 (ranging from 2.1 to 3.0) or one
failing grade (5.0) shall be disqualified from the READS scholarship program.
During General Community Quarantine (GCQ) period
1. That, a READS scholar aged 21 years old and above shall be reverted to the original status of a READS
scholar and is expected to render READS duties on the skeleton system within the GCQ period.
He/she shall observe all the guidelines as stipulated in the Memorandum of Agreement which
he/she signed upon acceptance to the READS scholarship, except for the following:
1.1 That, if a READS scholar incurs accumulated two unexcused absences during the summer and
three unexcused absences during the regular semester while rendering READS duty on the
skeleton system, he/she shall be disqualified from the READS scholarship program. That, a
READS scholar who is unable to report to READS duty during the entire GCQ period without
any valid reason, he/she shall be disqualified from the READS scholarship program;
1.2 That, a READS scholar shall not report to READS duties if he/she manifests any of the
following symptoms: sore throat, fever, dry cough, and influenza-like symptoms. He/she
shall present a medical certificate to the Scholarship center online as proof of illness before
to reporting to READS duty. Furthermore, he/she shall submit a medical certificate that
he/she is fit to work from the university physician or other physician and present it to
Scholarship Center online upon returning to duty; and
1.2 That, a READS scholar shall fill out a daily health declaration form before reporting to READS
duties and make an honest and truthful declaration about his/her health condition. In the
event of non-disclosure or failure to declare information, it will be deemed as a ground for
disqualification or forfeiture of the scholarship.
2. That, a READS scholar below 21 years old who is not allowed to go out during the GCQ period shall
continue to observe the conditions stipulated during the ECQ/MECQ period; and
3. That, a READS scholar whose address or who is currently residing in those identified as COVID-19 Hot
Spot Areas shall continue to observe the conditions as stipulated during the ECQ/MECQ period. Hot
spot areas are those barangays or municipalities under lockdown by the local government due to the
massive or increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the area.
This scholarship agreement is made specifically for Recoletos Educational Assistance for Deserving Students (READS)
scholars within the Corona Virus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic time.
