Zoonation - Into the Hoods

Into the Hoods is based on the fairytale story Into the Woods. This dance's
story line focus' on the type of life people in The Hood live today, and how
difficult it is to survive in such harsh living conditions.
In my research i have found out that Zoonation is not just a dance troupe but
also a dance academy that specializes in different forms of hip hop. This
academy teaches young children to young adults. Dancing in The Hood isnt
just a profession but a way of life, an escape away from all the bad and a
release. It brings joy and light.
I strongly like this particular dance because it tells a beautiful a story, and it
shows what it represents with a passion as the performers dance. The
emotional input that the dancers bring and the dancing itself elevate
the feeling of the dance technique.

Rosas Danst Rosas

I feel that Rosas Danst Rosas is a strong dance and emotion and beieve that it
is not just based on everyday gestures but on everday feelings: pain. I believe
that it is absed on domestice violence and abuse. I infer this from the dance as
several times the female dancers clutch their stomaches, make panicked and
pained faces, also their laboured sighs as if to say not long until some peace.
I like the the style of dance but i hate the continuitive repetetiveness and feel
thst it takes away from the dance as watchers become bored watching the
same thing happening over and over again. Making it seem thath the dancers
are on repeat, which might be the perceptive as women in domestic violence
cases usually go through the same loop and that might ne what this dance is
telling us.
Altogether I like the dance but feel it could be better.

All That Jazz

I do not like the dnaces in All That jazz as they seem too sexual and intimate,
especially the type of clothes thay wear and how they dance. I especially hate
the style of jazz as i do not like the way it looks when one dances it however
when sung is a different story. I do, however, like the storyline and bases of
All That Jazz. I have found out through research that all That Jazz was based
on the corruption of the justice system and the accusation of women
murderers. People were commited and released based on their popularity
with the public, lawyer and sometimes status. I find this highly interesting
though this is more stage dancing that actal dancing.
