Vision: Content Advisor

What is the Content Advisor Role?
Over the years, we have explored various ideas within this role and have seen a few work and many fails. Two
deliberate shifts we have made for the year 2019-20 based on the city's needs and learnings are:
1. Designing the role to address a focus area-​Building​ ​Content Expertise.​ This year we have chosen to bet on
Fellowadvisors towards building content expertise in themselves and the city.
2. ​The Application process​ - this year, we choose to bet on the belief that the single most important virtue needed
for transformation is a willingness to continually learn and get better deliberately, hence the application process
evaluates your ability to learn continuously. However, since CAs will be supporting other fellows, we will also want to
see basic proficiency in teaching skills, passion, and understanding of the content for starters.
3. Advisors developing a sense of ​ownership​ to create their journey.
As content advisors in the city, each of you will work towards raising the bar of excellence for the ​respective​ content
through:
1. Continuous ​research, practice, and improvement​ within the classroom.
2. Creation of pedagogy and content resources that will be implemented across the city.
3. Being role-models of transformative teaching practices.
4. Set up learning spaces and structures to drive content expertise and mastery in all fellows.
4. Exhibit ownership by crafting your learning journey as a teacher and leader.

Support Eco-system:

Content Mentors Content Mentors are experts in their content area and have created proof points of
excellence in their journey and will mentor us remotely through monthly touch points. These
calls can range from skill-building, to doubt clearing to learning something new together
depending on the need.

CA Coach The CA coach plays the role of an integrator who supports the content advisors in their
training and coaching other fellows in the city by sharing feedback on session plans and
also facilitate learning experiences and de-brief experiences towards revisiting the
principles of conscious leadership.

Self-created Eco-system of Over and beyond this eco-system of support, the CAs are requested to go above and
support beyond these opportunities to explore what content excellence as a teacher and advisor
looks like.
Logistics:

A.Scope and Sequence for Content Mentor Calls:

The Content Mentor calls are scheduled to happen 1/month for 2 hours towards upskilling CAs in their
learning journey. The Calls are scheduled to happen in the first week of every month.
The Content Experts are also available for the CAs to connect offline for feedback and support.

B, Scope and Sequence for Content Coach Spaces:

Syntax:

1. De-briefing the month that went by from the lens of Integrity and Responsibility.
2. Planning for the upcoming CA session.
3. Feedback and practice time/problem-solving time.

C. Content Advisor Practice Circles for City :

Content Advisors create learning spaces/ practice circles for fellows in their content area 1/ month and the
scope and Sequence is as below. These sessions take place in the second week of the month.
