To know about the opportunities for the development of business, corporate, limited
commuter, charter and private general aviation activity.
How Makalu air provide the high level of service to the public.
To know about work closely with environmental interest groups and with local,
regional and federal agencies to identify environmental issues that affect the future
development of the airport.
Determining the role of the airport with respect to other transportation modes in the
region to best meet the region’s transportation needs.

Introduction
Makalu air was first introduced in 2009 with first Single Engine Cessna Grand Caravan
C208B aircraft operator in Nepal. The company has been taken over by the family of
Phizo Nath Nepali.
The company head office is located in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, Nepal and the base
station offices are in Nepalgunj Surkhet and Pokhara Airport. The major customers of
Makalu Air are the World Food Organization (WFO), many other Government and
Non-Government Organizations, NGO/INGOs, Nepal Food Corporation (NFC),
Commercial Business Parties, Private Cargo Companies and Travel Agencies.

Factors affecting Makalu air

Makalu air can also land on grass or gravel land. It has provided reliefs program in
the time of natural calamities. The employees of Makalu airline dedication towards
the efficiency in work performance and more importantly their commitment and
sensitively towards the flight safety. The crew members of Makalu air were
experiences and determination. Makalu Air provides chartered passenger and cargo
services. Makalu Air has been fully dedicated in quality service to its customers.
Makalu Air has three single-engine Cessna 208B Grand Caravan aircrafts to its fleet.
Based in Nepalgunj, Makalu Air provides chartered passenger and cargo services.

Makalu air can arrange Arial sightseeing tours, sky diving and other adventures
sports. Also, they arrange trek for those who are not able to trek due to physical
condition.
Emergency evacuation is the urgent immediate who leave a place that happen a
threat and on-going threat or a hazard to lives or property. Makalu air are also used
for medical and air ambulance.
Makalu air is also useful in cargo transportation where different types of legal goods
are imported and exported. It is currently based in surkhet for cargo transportation
to places like Rara, Dolpa, Bajura and jumla. In jumla, it’s a gravel track running along
the Karnali River. This track can get very muddy and slippery after rain making it
challenging to get through. During and after a storm the road may be impassable,
even with a four-wheel-drive vehicle

Private chartered is also available in Makalu air that selling transportation by the
seat, air charter companies focus on individual private aircraft, urgent or time-
sensitive cargo, air ambulance service, and other forms of aid hoc air transportation.
Some air charters brokers have been given economic authority to sell seats on
private jets with mixed success.

Further plan
 They are about to expand the route to eastern Nepal and central Nepal.
 The company are in process of importing the other new plane and helicopter
(Robinson R44, twin otter, donier).

Accidents and incidents

 On 21 Nov 2011, Makalu Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan took off from
Surkhet and route to Talcha. Upon touchdown at Talcha, the aircraft skidded
off the runway and hit a rock, damaging the front of the aircraft four of the 11
occupants were injured.
 On 4 August 2016, Makalu Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan took off from
Simikot and route to Surkhet. After experiencing engine failure whilst
climbing, the aircraft was forced to land in the Karnali River. Both pilots
survived uninjured.
 On 16 May 2018, Makalu Air Cessna 208B Grand Caravan, operating a cargo
flight, took off for Simikot from Surkhet. The aircraft crashed near Simikot
pass, neither of the two pilots survived.

Conclusion
The airline industry has contributed to the globalization of the world economy. It
connects buyers and sellers. It also transports goods across nations. It breaks the
barrier of distance and time. Like any other business, the airline industry is also
impacted by changes in its external environment that Political, Social, legal,
Technological, Environmental, and Economic. Though the road to the airport is the
infamous Karnali Highway, Makalu air is providing the facilities to the people.

Recommendation
Although it focuses in the rural areas, people living in rural areas do not have much
information about it. Using the charter flight is quite expensive. So, company need to
look forward in minimizing its cost. They most increases the services in all over Nepal
and also create employment for nepali people. There should be in increases in
corporate offices of the airlines. So that people can make easy booking.
