2. HAZARD IDENTIFICATION
Inhalation Excessive concentrations of a nuisance dust may cause coughing,
sneezing, and nasal irritation.
This product may contain trace amounts of crystalline silica which can
cause lung diseases such as silicosis and
lung cancer.

Skin contact Irritation of the skin and possible chemical burns due to alkalinity and
dehydration may result.

Eye contact Irritation and possible chemical burns due to alkalinity and
dehydration may result

Ingestion Irritation to the throat, esophagus, and stomach lining may occur.

Human health hazards - Acute Irritating to the respiratory tract if inhaled.

Human health hazards - Chronic Inhalation of dust in excess of the Threshold Limit Value (TLV)
recommended by the American Conference of Governmental
Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) over an extended number of years may
cause pneumoconiosis. Pneumoconiosis is a disabling lung disease
which may be progressive and, on rare occasions, may ultimately be
fatal.

4. FIRST AID MEASURES


Inhalation Move victim to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, apply oxygen and
seek medical attention.

Skin contact Wash with soap and running water for 15 minutes. If symptoms
persist, seek medical attention

Eye contact Flush with large amounts of water for 15 minutes. If symptoms
persist, seek medical attention

Ingestion Product contains Hydrated Lime, an alkaline material which is soluble


in water. If ingested, drink 3-4 glasses of milk or water to dilute,
followed by a glass of fruit juice or dilute vinegar. Get immediate
medical attention.

Methods for cleaning up Wear suitable protective clothing. Shut off ignition sources; no flares,
smoking or flames in area. Use a clean shovel to carefully place
material into clean, dry container, cover and remove from
area. Flush spill area with water.

Handling Do not eat, drink or smoke in working area. Handle in well ventilated
area. Avoid breathing dust.

Storage conditions Store in a dry cool area 40 – 120 F.

confined area.
