Subject : Power Interruptions at Lafarge Cement Zimbabwe

The subject of this memorandum is the Power Interruptions experienced by Lafarge Cement
Zimbabwe from January 2018 to present. These have affected operations in the production
of cement and induced additional operational costs.

Below are tables of the power interruptions that have been experienced by Lafarge Cement
Zimbabwe year to date (YTD).

Note: The durations of the power interruptions are based on the feed off and feed on of the
Kiln or Cement Mill 1 when Kiln down.

A total of 4,374 tons of Clinker, in potential production, valued at USD512,339 has been lost
since the beginning of the year. To compound the matter, 5,067 tons of Cement valued at
USD896,859 has been lost to power cuts and interruptions during the same period.

Cumulatively, we have lost USD1,409,198 in potential revenue due to power cut induced
Plant stoppages since January 2018. Further losses are expected on the refractory lining of
the Kiln due to thermal shock induced by the heating and cooling cycles due to frequent
power cuts. The anticipated refractory failure is expected to cost no less than USD150,000
to make good.

We request a detailed and technical explanation on why these interruptions occurred and the
actions you are taking to address or to prevent their recurrence.
