The Profile of the Respondents

Table 1

Frequency and Percentage of the Personal Profile of the Students

Parameter Frequency Percentage%

Gender Male 27 30.3
Female 62 69.7
Age 15-16 years old 25 28.1
17-18 years old 61 68.5

Grade 12 57 64.0
General average 81-85 6 6.7
86-90 28 31.5
91+ 55 61.8

Table 4.1 shows the frequency and percentage of personal profile of the students.

The data shows that majority of the respondents were female. Most of the respondents

belong to the age range of 17-18 years old. Among the 89 respondents most of them are

grade 12 students, majority of them have a general average of 91 and above.

The table reveals that most of the respondents were from Grade 12 with a

majority of female that belong to the age ranging of 17-18 years old and have an average

of 91 and above.

According to Bibi et. al (2014) age revealed a significant effect as higher life-

satisfaction among older people.

Table 4.2 shows the average weighted on the level of learning satisfaction with

regards to learning style. It shows that majority of the students were very satisfied with

the objectives they set for learning with 3.67 weighted mean.

The students are very satisfied with the objectives they set for learning because

they tend to do all the objectives they set and however, attending student conferences and

seminars got the least weighted because students tend to be passive during those times.

According to Hidi (2011) Students want to learn because it is their interest,

interests can also affect our cognitive functions and learning and According to Mercado

et. al (2016) most students are satisfied with their learning style through the aid of books.

Table 4.3 shows the average weighted on the level of learning satisfaction with

regards to teaching style. Majority of the students are very satisfied with the teaching

style of presenting lessons using appropriate teaching strategies and methods like

recitation, lecture, demonstration to ensure the students understanding.

It implies that ABM students are very satisfied in learning when teachers allows

the students to recite and when the teachers lectures and demonstrates some topics to

ensure the students understanding.

According to Custodio et al. (2013) states that subject matter is an essential

component of teacher knowledge wherein the myriad tasks of teaching, such as selecting

worthwhile learning activities, giving helpful explanations, asking productive questions

and evaluating students‟ learning, all depend on the teacher‟s understanding of what it is

that students are expected to learn.

Table 4.4 shows the average weighted on the level of learning satisfaction with

regards to classroom facilities. The table shows that the students are very satisfied with

the arrangement with regards to their classroom facilities.

It implies that ABM students are very satisfied with their learning with regards to

the arrangement of chairs and Ventilation got the least weighted mean because the

student are moderately satisfied with regards to the ventilation of the classroom.

25
SAN JACINTO NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL
Brgy. Guibel, San Jacinto, Pangasinan

According to Almaro (2016), good environment during study is effective as a

catalyst for learning together with time management, good reading skills, high motivation

and note taking skills and with the organized preparation of the things to study.

Table 4.5 shows the problems encountered with regards to learning style,

teaching style and classroom facilities. It reveals that the lightning and temperature in

classrooms and corridors are not in good condition resulted the highest weighted mean

and ranked first.

The table reveals that the problem that affect the learning satisfaction of

the ABM students is the Lighting and temperature in classrooms and corridors are not in

good condition and the least problem encountered by the ABM students is they do not set

goal in studying.

According to the idea given by Leisher et. al. (2010), states that integrating

technology into the classroom begins when a teacher prepare lessons that use technology

in meaningful and relevant ways. Technological aids should support the curriculum rather

than dominate it. Technology should assist the teacher in creating a collaborative learning

environment.

Table 4.6 shows the relationship between age and level of learning satisfaction.

It’s said that there is no significant relationship between age and level of learning

satisfaction with p-value of 0.280.

The table reveals that there is no correlation between the profile variables in terms

of age with level of learning satisfaction of the ABM students.

According to Bibi et. al (2014) age revealed a significant effect as higher life-

satisfaction among older people. However, Thurmondsaid that age did not contribute to

the prediction of student‟s satisfaction in terms of learning style. Most students are

contented with their strategies in learning.

Table 4.7 shows the relationship between gender and level of learning

satisfaction. It’s said that there is no significant relationship between gender and level of

learning satisfaction with p-value of 0.474.

There is no correlation between the gender of the students with their level of

learning satisfaction.

Bibi et. al (2014) study found non-significant differences in life-satisfaction in

reference to sex. However, according to Naaj et al there are significant differences in the

ways men and women perceive about the professors' ability to teach. Girls tend to be

more self-confident about their academic abilities and have higher academic self-esteem.

their level of learning satisfaction

satisfaction with regards to teaching styles.

The table reveals that the general average of ABM students have no relationship

with their learning satisfaction.

According to Cagle (2017) results were compared to their grade point averages to

determine if there was a correlation with life satisfaction. A positive but weak correlation

was found between the two variables, which added to the existing information on this

important topic.
