I. Objectives:
Given varied activities realia and pictures, the pupils with 75% accuracy will be able to:
A. identify the words with opposite meaning;
B. use antonyms in comparing objects; and
C. realize that opposite meaning of words can help understand the unknown word easily.
III. Procedure:
A. Preparation
1. Motivation
The teacher shows different realia and asks:
What do you call this object?
Can you describe the ruler?
B. Presentation
Group Activity:
The teacher groups the pupils into three. He lets them compare the pictures given to
them.
The teacher lets the pupils read the words (output of group activity).
C. Generalization
What is an antonym?
Can you give some examples of an antonym?
Can you describe the book from a notebook?
D. Application
The teacher lets the pupils play the game “Find My Opposite”. In this game, the
teacher plays a song and rotates the mystery box with rolled papers in the whole
class. When the song stops, the pupil who holds the mystery box will pick a
rolled paper and give the opposite meaning of the word.
