★ Bihar left-arm spinner ​Ashutosh Aman breaks Bishan Bedi's 44 year record​ as
the highest wicket taker in a Ranji Trophy season after claiming his 65th wicket.

★ Bihar has been placed ​36th in providing quality education​ by Niti Aayog report.
Kerala was the top performer.

★ 24 pairs of train will stop at Patna Sahib station from 5th to 19th January on the
occasion of Prakash Parv.

★ E-commerce giant ​Amazon ​India signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU)

with the Bihar State Khadi and Village Industries Board. It would allow weavers from
Bihar to aggressively price their products and upload it on the portal through the
Bihar Khadi Board.

★ Bihar state government will give incentive amount of ​1000 per month to Asha
workers.

★ Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated ​Bodh Festival on 11th January.

★ Bihar famous ​Mandar festiva​l inaugurated on 14th January in ​Banka​. It is the state
festival of Bihar.

★ Arariya resident ​Saurabh Anand​ won third title of International Master Norm in
Chase Championship.

★ Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated power grid in ​Saharsa ​on 19th Jan 2019.

★ Riverfront platform​ will be built in Ganga coast at ​Sultanganj​.

★ Ancient idol of lord Budhha dancing style found in excavation of ​Lali hill of
Lakhisarai.

★ Bihar cabinet decision - Now villagers will get supply water every month in 30 rupee.

★ The union cabinet approved the Patna metro project comprising two corridors. The
first 26.94 km stretch would connect ​Danapur to Mithapur​ while the second stretch
would cover 14.45 km linking ​Patna Junction to New Inter-State Bus Terminal​.

★ The first metro rail network in Bihar will come up at an estimated cost of Rs.
13,411.24 crore and it will be ​completed by 2024​.

★ Rabindra Kumar​ becomes the chairman of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission.

★ Bihar tourism minister Parmod Kumar inaugurated ​Sun festival​ in Aurangabad on

12th February, 2019.

★ Bihar finance minister Sushil Kumar Modi presented Bihar budget on 11th February

★ In a significant judgement, the Patna high court on 19th February struck down the
facility of life time allotment of bungalows to former Chief Ministers with unlimited
financial maintenance facilities.

★ The Bihar Assembly on 18th February passed the Bihar Private School (Fee
Regulation) Bill, 2019, which mandates more that 7% annual increase on fees. The
schools planning increase in fee by more than 7% will require approaching the
committee six months prior to the commencement of the new season.

★ First aquatic census conducted by ​Zoological Survey of India​, Wildlife Trust of India
and Tilka Majhi University, Bhagalpur has found out that there are only ​1150
dolphins in different rivers of Bihar​.

★ PM Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of multi super specialty hospital in
Bhagalpur on 17th February.

★ Bihar is home to around half of the estimated 3000 dolphins population in the
country.

★ Bihar has become the first state in the country to have raised a special dog squad to
detect liquor consignment.
