Pakistan Post
After much evaluation, I studied HR practices of Pakistan Post and found following problems:
PROBLEMS
1. Recruitment and Selection:
Due to the traditional selection procedures and political intervention, most of the candidates
are hired based on favoritism which highlights the ineffective recruitment techniques which
in result effect overall performance of the organization.
2. Adaptability of Technology:
According to a survey, 60 percent employees in Pakistan Post are above 40 years and due to
the traditional human resource management mindset due to the inability to understand and
use new technology, That’s why they are reluctant to use new advanced practices which can
increase the growth.
3. Poor Feedback Evaluation System:
Pakistan Post is notorious for it’s no or late response to complaints which indicate the poor
management evaluation techniques.
SOLUTIONS
1. Recruitment and Selection Solution:
Human resource management need to hire individuals on merit to increase the efficiency of
the organization. HR should also do job rotation of employees in different departments of the
organization to better utilize the talent of the individual.
2. Adaptability of Technology Solution:
HR must develop a new management information system with reference to customer’s mail
tracking and personal information. HR should digitalize the data of customers and market its
services in new and effective way.
3. Poor Evaluation System Solution:
HR must opt for changes in customer services based on the reviews of customers. That’s why
they need to solve problems of customer through fast tracking platforms like SMS and Email.
