of conductors of hv and lv winding.

Q.2. Calculate the overall dimensions, number of turns and conductor cross sections of lv and hv
winding of a 100 KVA 2000/400 V, 50 Hz, single phase shell type transformer. Assume Emf/turn
Et = 10 volts, Max. flux density in core Bm = 1.1 wb/m2 , current density =2 A/mm2, Kw=0.33.
The ratio of window height to window width=3 and ratio of core depth to width of central
limb=2.5. The stacking factor is 0.9. Assume the same flux density in the core and limb.

distribution transformer, based on the following information of design parameters. Use a three
stepped core. Assume:- Emf/turn=10 volts, Maximum flux density in the core Bm= 1.3
wb/m2,current density δ=2.5A/mm2, window space factor Kw=0.3, Net area of a 3 stepped core
Ai=0.6d2, overall height=overall width, stacking factor=0.9.
