LEARNING OBJECTIVE At the end of this lesson pupils should be able to:-
(WALT) 1. listen to three description and ask them to tick one of the three pictures according to what they hear.

Pre-Lesson (Starter) :
Play the CD and ask pupils to the pictures in the vocabulary section and repeat. Say the words/phrases again in random order and ask
pupils to repeat and point.
Lesson Development :
1. Explain to pupils that they will listen to three description and ask them to tick one of the three pictures
according to what they hear.
2. Play the CD twice and have pupils do the activity.
ACTIVITIES 3. Have pupils check answers in pairs first, then check as a class. (Assessment)
4. Direct pupils’ attention to the picture of the boys.
5. Ask pupils what the boys are doing. (They are playing a guessing game. One boy is showing the other boy a
flag and he is guessing the nationality.)
6. Play the CD and have pupil chorally repeat the exchange. Have individual pupil model the exchange.
7. Divide pupils into pairs. Ask each student to choose a country and draw its flag. Pupils take turns to guess their
classmates’ countries and nationalities. (Assessment)
Post-Lesson (Plenary) :
Alternatively, hand out photocopies of the flag flashcards to pupils. Have pairs of pupils present the exchange to the rest of the class.
