Topic: Are Smartphones Good for Kids Under Five?


Specific purpose: to persuade my audience the negative effects of giving a smartphone to children
under five.
Central Idea: giving a smartphone to kids it is a bad decision that parents are taking in these days.

Introduction
At some point, parents must deal with child ‘s request for a phone, but it is good to give it to them
before five? This is a big situation and it’s happening to the youngest these days. The topic is being
increasingly debated and people are in favor or against of it. There’s a lot to deal when it comes to
getting phones for kids. Here are some negative aspect to consider when give a smartphone before
five to a child, such as, poor eyesight, bad manage of the time, and lack communication with parents.
Body
I. Children under five are still developing physically and mentally and give a smartphone to them
can damage their eyesight.
1. A new study says that smartphone may ruin your eyesight.
2. It’s damaged the muscles of your eye.
3. Early eye diseases.
II. It is necessary to limit the time of using smartphone to children.
1. Children may feel the necessity of use the smartphone 24/7.
2. They do not recognize the reality from what they see on web.
3. Without a management of time on web it may cause a bad behavior.
III. Children under 5 need a strong communication with their parents but nowadays they prefer the
smartphone.
1. They do not connect with the family.
2. This also affect in someway the relationship with their parents.
3. Under 5 is the stage of asking everything you want.
IV. You must consider the benefits of children under five using smartphones. Such as, the ability
to communicate in emergency situations and they could increase their sense of responsibility.
However, as we figure out that there are more negative effects on giving a smartphone to kids
under five. It is important for parents to keep in mind what kids lose when screen time is not
limited.
Conclusion
In conclusion, there are many negative benefits of giving a smartphone to kids under five. Such as,
poor eyesight bad management of time, and lack communication with their parents. I believe that
smartphone for kids under five should always be surprised for their parents and with a limited time.
