﴾ )The land of the blind

I never imagined that the falsehood of true falsehood might completely destroy the

truth and make it a great sin, as happened in the novel The Land of the Blind by the

wonderful writer Herbert George Wells, when fate drove one of the sighted to the

land of the blind, so he tried to live among them as a king because he is the only

..sighted

However, they did not admit the existence of that sight claimed by the strange

expatriate, and they tried to take his eyes off and he had two options: Either he stays

and becomes like them or escapes if he can. The sight in the land of the blind is a

..weightless glow

The story of the land of the blind people: When the Spanish overwhelmed and

increased their crimes in Peru, a group of immigrants fled themselves across the

Andes mountains, but great rockslides took place in the Andes Mountains. These

people isolated the people in a valley far from the rest of the world, and they lived

with it until a strange disease spread all of them into blindness. And they have

..explained that many sins they committed

And so these people continued to live generation after generation in that distant

valley, and they inherited blindness and inherited it to their children, until the fate

drove the British explorer Nunes, a mountain climbing expert who was on an

expedition with a group of friends, but unfortunately his foot slipped and fell from

.,above To that remote valley

Until his companions thought that he was dead, they were not aware of the legendary

valley of the blind valley, but he did not die and fell on a pillow of snow saved his

life, and when the strange explorer began walking in that valley he saw a city built in

a strange manner, devoid of organization and the colors of its houses are bright and

.numerous, and devoid of No windows, you will be surprised

And he discovered that the city that he was going to walk through was a city for the

blind, so he started telling them about himself and his city from which he came, and

that the people in it are seeing, and they marveled at what he meant by sight, so he

tried to understand them, but to no avail, they thought that he was attracted to delirate

them a lot about the beauty of the world and the diversity of colors and tried to

.describe them to them, But they did not listen to him and accused him of madness

After all his attempts to persuade them that he was the best, and possessing what they

do not possess, he decided to run away but failed, so he returned to them with an

apology and denied everything he said about the sight until they forgave him and

allow him to live with them, so they forgave him after they flogged him and then

.assigned him some work

It was at this time that his heart started beating with love for a beautiful girl from the

blind, but contrary to his vision, it was the view of the blind, as they considered her

very ugly because her nose was pointed and her cilia long, and when the young man

came to marry her father, the father fell in a confusion, marrying her from the

majzoub who is in the rank of Less than all of them, or he leaves his ugly daughter

without marriage! So he asked for the opinion of the wise in that, so their opinion

came out conclusively that the boy has two strange members with his face located

above his nose, he calls them the eyes and they are the ones who damaged his mind,
so they must be removed so that the boy becomes a complete sane like them, and then

he can marry the girl.Of course the boy refused to sacrifice his eyes at first and filled

the world with screams, but the girl who loves him fell into his arms and began to beg

him to do so, and thus blindness became the condition of marriage and the completion

..of citizenship in that remote society

The young man bowed and went out last time to say goodbye to the enchanting world

with its beauty, its blue rivers and green valleys, and the brightness of its yellow sun,

but it stopped for a while, and he thought about everything, then he won within him

the love of life and decided to flee for the last time, and in fact he managed to do so

.and escaped himself away from the city of the blind

‫ قد يفني الحق تما ًما ويجعله إثم كبير مثلما حدث في رواية أرض‬، ‫لم أكن أتصور يو ًما أن التباس الحق بالباطل‬

‫ فحاول أن‬، ‫ حينما ساقت األقدار أحد المبصرين إلى أرض العميان‬، ‫العميان للكاتب الرائع هربرت جورج ويلز‬

. ‫يعيش بينهم مل ًكا ألنه المبصر الوحيد‬

‫ وحاولوا نزع عينيه فأصبح أمام خيارين ال‬، ‫ولكنهم لم يعترفوا بوجود ذلك البصر الذي يدعيه الوافد الغريب‬

. ‫ فالمبصر في أرض العميان إمعة ال وزن لها‬، ‫ثالث لهم ؛ إما أن يبقى ويصبح مثلهم أو يهرب إن استطاع‬

‫ حينما طغى األسبان وكثرت جرائمهم في بيرو فر مجموعة من المهاجرين بأنفسهم‬: ‫قصة رواية أرض العميان‬

‫ ولكن حدثت انهيارات صخرية كبيرة في جبال اإلنديز عزلت هؤالء القوم في وا ٍد بعيد عن‬، ‫عبر جبال اإلنديز‬

‫ وقد فسروا ذلك بكثرة الخطايا‬، ‫ فعاشوا به إلى أن انتشر فيهم مرضٌ غريب أصابهم جميعًا بالعمى‬، ‫بقية العالم‬

. ‫التي ارتكبوها‬
‫وهكذا ظل هؤالء القوم يعيشون جياًل بعد جياًل في ذلك الوادي البعيد ‪ ،‬وهم يتوارثون العمى ويورثونه إلى أبنائهم‬

‫‪ ،‬إلى أن ساقت األقدار المستكشف البريطاني نيونز ‪ ،‬وهو خبير في تسلق الجبال كان في رحلة استكشافية مع‬

‫مجموعة من األصدقاء ‪ ،‬ولكن لسوء حظه انزلقت قدمه وسقط من أعلى إلى ذلك الوادي النائي ‪.‬‬

‫حتى ظن أصحابه أنه مات ‪ ،‬فلم يكونوا على علم بوجود وادي العميان األسطوري ‪ ،‬لكنه لم يمت وسقط على‬

‫وسادة من الثلج أنقذت حياته ‪ ،‬وحينما بدأ المستكشف الغريب المشي في ذلك الوادي رأى مدينة• مبنية بشكل‬

‫غريب ‪ ،‬يخلو من التنظيم وألوان بيوتها فاقعة ومتعددة ‪ ،‬وتخلو من أي نوافذ فتعجب من ذلك ‪.‬‬

‫واكتشف أن تلك المدينة• التي يسير بها هي مدينة للعميان ‪ ،‬فأخذ يخبرهم عن نفسه ومدينته التي جاء منها ‪ ،‬وأن‬

‫الناس فيها مبصرون فتعجبوا ماذا يقصد بالبصر ‪ ،‬فحاول إفهامهم ولكن دون جدوى ‪ ،‬ظنوا أنه مجذوب يهذي‬

‫حدثهم كثي ًر ا عن جمال الدنيا وتنوع األلوان وحاول وصفها لهم ‪ ،‬ولكنهم لم يستمعوا له واتهموه بالجنون ‪.‬‬

‫وبعد أن فشلت كل محاوالته بإقناعهم أنه األفضل ‪ ،‬ويمتلك ما ال يمتلكون قرر الهرب ولكن فشل فعاد إليهم‬

‫معتذ ًر ا وأنكر كل ما قاله عن البصر حتى يسامحوه ويسمحوا له بالعيش معهم ‪ ،‬فصفحوا عنه بعد أن قاموا بجلده‬

‫ثم كلفوه ببعض األعمال ‪.‬‬

‫وفي هذا الوقت بدأ قلبه ينبض بالحب لفتاة جميلة من العميان ‪ ،‬لكن على عكس نظرته كانت نظرة العميان ‪ ،‬فقد‬

‫كان يعتبرونها قبيحة جدًا ألن أنفها مدبب وأهدابها طويلة ‪ ،‬وحينما تقدم الشاب للزواج من والدها وقع األب في‬

‫حيرة ‪ ،‬أيزوجها من ذلك المجذوب الذي يعد• في مرتبة أقل منهم جميعًا ‪ ،‬أم يترك ابنته القبيحة دون زواج ! لذا‬

‫طلب رأي الحكماء في ذلك ‪ ،‬فجاء رأيهم قاطعًا أن الفتى لديه عضوين غريبين بوجهه يقعان فوق أنفه ‪ ،‬هو‬

‫يسميهما العينين وهما من أتلفا عقله ‪ ،‬لذا يجب نزعهما حتى يصير الفتى كاماًل عاقاًل مثلهم ‪ ،‬وبعدها يمكنه أن‬

‫يتزوج الفتاة ‪.‬‬

‫بالطبع رفض الفتى أن يضحي بعينيه• في البداية ومأل الدنيا صرا ًخا ‪ ،‬ولكن الفتاة التي تحبه ارتمت بين أحضانه‬

‫وأخذت ترجوه أن يفعل ‪ ،‬وهكذا أصبح العمى هو شرط الزواج واكتمال المواطنة في ذلك المجتمع النائي ‪.‬‬

‫فرضخ الشاب وخرج ألخر مرة يودع العالم الساحر بجماله ‪ ،‬وأنهاره الزرقاء ووديانه الخضراء ‪ ،‬وسطوع‬

‫شمسه الصفراء ولكنه توقف لبرهة ‪ ،‬وأخذ يفكر في كل شيء فانتصر بداخله حب الحياة وقرر الهرب للمرة‬

‫األخيرة ‪ ،‬وبالفعل استطاع فعل ذلك ونجا بنفسه بعيدًا عن مدينة العميان ‪.‬‬
