S  Criterias :
S  Local Hiring – Employing a minimum of one (01) local
worker within 6 month grace period upon of the date of the
approval of LPA, with the minimum salary of $450 per
month;

S  Objectives – to stimulate country’s economic growth and

improve its potential in attracting bona fide entrepreneurs with
the greater emphasis on the long terms benefits of Brunei’s
economy and market as well as to encourage hiring locals
 UNEMPLOYMENT

S  Implement Minimum Wage in Brunei Darussalam :

S  Objectives : to ensure workers can meet their basic needs and

his/her family;

S  With the assistance from the ILO wage expert and The
Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia
(ERIA) to provides recommendations to Brunei Darussalam
on the minimum wage policy;

S  To engage with the stakeholders in a bigger scale specifically to

those industries that will be affected by these policy;
