BOOK REVIEW GUIDELINES

The following are guidelines for anyone interested in submitting a written book review to be
published on Latino Book Review. All book reviews will be evaluated by our board before
they are accepted to make sure the reviews and books submitted are aligned with Latino
Book Review's philosophy. Material submitted may be accepted or denied.

1) The review must be of a Latino/a author or Latino related work.

2) Word Limit: The review should be around 250 words, plus a short author’s bio of about 40
words. Reviews are very brief.
3) Format: The review must answer Who, What, and Why. Who=the author, What=what the
book is mainly about, and Why=why our readers might find the book interesting.
4) Style: Must not use 1st person point of view (In other words no "I"). Review must stay
positive (No book bashing).
5) Ethics: Books should be chosen based on their quality and not based on a close
relationship with the author.

Note: Latino Book Review reserves the right to edit any reviews submitted.
