Inflammation is a response to a chemical stimulus, mechanical or infectious microorganisms

caused by unjury or tissue damage. It was suspected that Boesenbergia pandurata has
antiinflamation activity. This experiment aim to determine antiinflamation activity in
Boesenbergia pandurata with carrageenan induce paw edema method by subcutaneous
injection of carrageenan. The result showed that Boesenbergia pandurata crude extract with
a dose of 30–300 mg/kg, the ethyl acetate fraction group (30mg / kg -100 mg / kg), the aqua
ethyl acetate fraction group (30mg / kg -100 mg / kg) has antiinflammation activities. This
can be seen by a reduciton edema volume in all the groups. It could be concluded that
Boesenbergia pandurata exhibited anti-inflammatory efficacy in rats and Boesenbergia
pandurata crude extract had most potent antiinflammaation activity than others.
