The Value of the Portfolio Across Different Days
*** Screenshot supporting the daily portfolio value is provided at the appendix section.
INITIAL STRATEGY:
I joined the game on 17th March, 2020. I observed the market for two days. I watched the
players ranking higher in the game. I watched their shares and observed how the prices of those
shares were fluctuating. I tried to figure out whose prices were going up and whose prices were
going down. And, then on 19th March 2020, I performed my first transaction.
Initially, I had $100,000.00 to start with just like any other player. After observing the
experienced players, I decided to buy only those shares which were priced below $1. The
reason for doing so was to minimize the risk of loss. I thought that the price will not get
negative. So my chances of loss was very low. And, my strategy actually worked.
OVERALL PERFORMACE ANALYSIS:
I did almost 2000 transactions. Some of the major transactions and my strategy behind buying
or shorting those shares are as follows:
1. GASL: (Direxion Daily Natural Gas)
TRADING SUMMARY
Symbol Bought At Bought On Quantity Sold At Sold On Outcome
GASL $0.08 23.03.2020 9,99,999 $7.03 24.03.2020 Profit
Symbol Bought At Bought On Quantity Sold At Sold On Outcome
GASL $6.93 24.03.2020 6,39,808 $9.40 25.03.2020 Profit
Total Number of Transaction: 04
TRADING MOTIVATION AND STRATEGY:
I started my transaction through buying shares from GASL. While observing the shares of those
higher in rankings, I was searching for those shares whose prices were below $1 so that I could
buy shares in bigger quantity. Initially, I brought the shares of GASL at 0.09 on 19.03.2020.
And, sold them the day after at $0.10 and made little profit. Then after few days, while reading
about GASL, I saw an article which said that GASL was among the top 8 best performing
leveraged ETFs of the last week. So, I thought the price of this company’s share should have
already gone up. But, when I checked, it was even lower than before at $0.08. So, thinking that
the price might go up this week, I bought 999999 shares of GASL at just $0.08 per share on
23.03.2020. Immidiately after that day, the share price of this company goes up and I sold my
999999 shares at $7.03 on 24.03.2020 and made huge amount of profit almost 7 million in just
1 transaction. And with this transaction, my ranking became 9th. Then, after few hours when
the tradings were about to close, I took a risk and bought 639808 shares with everything I have
left, hoping to get a good return the day after. And I was right. The price kept increasing and I
sold those shares at $9.40 on 25.03.2020
