Justification of funds

The Music section is in need of keyboards, amplifier, and guitars – acoustic and electric,

recorders, leads and extensions. The instruments needed for music is based on the inventory form

that was completed by the teacher, as this form shows the instruments that are in need of repair

and what needs to be replaced. The figure of JMD 918,000 is reflected on a Performa invoice

from music mart after tax.

The Drama area will need a stage with wings, props, costumes, fan, shoes, wigs, make, and

jewelry. The subject is not new to the school, it is just that the area is been developed or been

expanded to include practical’s. The teacher for the area had nothing working with; therefore, the

estimated figure to elevate the area is JMD 450,000. A quotation showing the various break

down will be submitted.

The Visual Arts area will need flat screen TV, fabric, paint, and painting brush, among other

items. We await a proper invoice from the teacher as his projections appear to be off key;

therefore a reasonable figure of JMD 430,000 was assigned to the area.

The Plumbing Tech subject area has some amount of material however lack in tools such as

angle grinder, torque wrench, pipe wrench, drill etc. some additional materials that are required

includes : Pvc/Cpvc cleaner clear, tangit wet/dry cement blue, etc. Based on the inventory, the

material and tools will need to be increase in an effort to effectively cover the NCTEVT

curriculum. The Performa invoice from National Supply co. stated a figure of JMD 747,257.35

after tax. However, based on discussion with the teacher, she stated that 500,000.00 could help to

move the subject forward.

The Welding Technology subject area needs welding plants, materials and tools – such as:

welder apron, welders tong, regulator oxygen, etc. Plus, safety gears for students to work

effectively and safely. Based on the inventory, the material and tools will need to be increase in

an effort to effectively cover the NCTEVT curriculum. The Performa invoice from National

Supply co. stated a figure of JMD 1,844,821.33 after tax. However, based on discussion with the

teacher, he stated that the funds may increases to 1.9 million as additional materials may be

needed. Note: we may need to revise this list to select the most important items to reduce this

expense.

The Construction Technology area lacks various materials, tools, and equipments as shown on

the inventory form. The materials needed includes: lumbers, boards, blocks, steel, etc. Based on

information from the teacher, the total cost may increase from JMD 126,664.54 to about JMD

460,000. The increase in funding is because the furniture or wood working subject is usually

taught with construction; this may require different types of materials and tools. Please to see

quotation from rapid true value with a total of JMD 126,664.54 after tax for construction.

Industrial Techniques is taught from grade 7 – 9 and it is intended to introduce students to

various skill area, and working with resources. The figure of 200,000.00 is assigned to purchase

additional materials that the various practical areas may not have.

The Electrical Technology area needs tools, material, and equipments. Some material includes:

circuit breakers, switches, conductors, panels. Equipments includes: multi-meter, oscilloscope

etc. tools include: screw drivers, drills, lineman knifes etc. The area has no material and tools

based on inventory, and a figure of 500,000.00 after tax is shown on ABC electrical quotation.
Additional material may be needed as a lot of electronic items were not included on the

quotation.
