PERCENTAGE
*percent means a fraction with denominator 100.
Eg, 80% means 80/100
*We can convert - percent in to fraction numbers
- Percent in to decimal numbers
*To change from percent to fraction divide by 100
Example 40% = 40/100 = 2/5
*To convert fraction to percent multiply by 100
Example . 3/5 = 3/5 x 100 = 300/5 = 60%
*To convert percent to decimal divide by 100
Example. 10% = 10/100 = 1/10 = 0.1
* To convert decimal to percent multiply by 100
Example. 0.5 x 100 = 50%
*one day has 24 hours – to convert the days in to hour – multiply the number of days by 24.
Example. 3 days –––– into hour
3 x 24= 72 hours
 One hour 60 minutes – to convert the hour into minute– multiply the number of hours by
60.
Example 2 hours –––– into minutes
2 x 60 = 120 minutes
 One minute has 60 seconds – to convert the minute into second –multiply the number of
minute by 60.
Example. 9 minute into seconds
9 x 60 = 540

Time
 Second is the smallest unit of measurement
60 second ---------1 minute
 60 minute---------1 hour
24 hours---------1 day
7 days ---------1 week
12 months ------1 year
 The direction in which the hand of the clock rotate is called clockwise direction
–15 minutes is a quarter of 1 hour
–30 minute is half of an hour
