Blake Rowley

My name is Alexander Evanglista, I am an Etruscan artist. I love to do wall paintings and

I dabble with clay modeling and molding. I am in love with a woman named Angelica and today,

dear diary, I plan to purpose. It is a special day here for Angelica, we are celebrating her mother

and fathers lives and marriage. We will go to their tomb for a celebration and next to her mother

and fathers’ figurines, I will place the one I am making of us down and ask for her hand in

marriage. I think it will be a beautiful symbol because in our culture we look at the world of the

dead to understand our living (world).

Before taking this jump, I have to round up some clay. I will have to travel pretty far

across our long and hilly roads but it will be well worth it! Angelica is an entertainer, a dancer at

these festivals, so it will be nice to interact with her tonight as appose to just watching from a far.

We haven’t had much time together but when we do, I love when she reads to me. Like many

Etruscan woman, she is literate and by far the best reader and story teller I’ve ever encountered. I

could listen to her talk for hours, and that’s what I plan to do for the rest of our lives.

On my quest for clay, I had to cross two city states. None of which were any less

“mountainous” (hilly) than the last. I was quite tired upon my arrival to the site but I was greeted

by those I saw in our unique and beautiful language. I love our land and our people. I retrieved

my harvest and began on my way back home.

I arrived back and headed to her parent’s tomb where I instructed Angelica to meet me.

There she was, in her beautiful linen wearing her finest chiton and himation. We sat down near

her mother’s bronze finish (resembles a golden wagon) and I knew this was where I should place

our figurine and ask for her hand in marriage.

I grabbed her hands and kissed her intoxicated lips, pulled out the clay sculpture of us I

made and placed it down. She was excited and she said yes. Our hearts filled with joy and we

expressed our admiration for family life and how we have longed to become one. This isn’t

necessarily a typical day for me, but It sure was a great one.
