1 Job Summary

The role MPBN 2nd Level Operations Engineer is responsible for the coordination, management and
execution of MPBN network service & resource configuration, Operations & Maintenance activities
according to the pre-defined Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance levels.

 Assist Problem Management

 Configuration Management

 Managing, troubleshooting, operation and configuration of customer MPBN network

 Preforming MPLS traffic engineering to ensure balanced traffic distribution among core links

 Software update/upgrade

 Service Configuration & testing

 Nodes introduction, expansion and commissioning.

 Preforming IP configuration audit & IP Network Optimization solutions to ensure the service
quality & enhance network performance

 Customer support handling

3 Key Competence Elements


 Ericsson IP products hands-on Experience

 Deep knowledge of IP networking of telecom system, TCP/IP

 Experience in Linux, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, IPSec.

 Preparing & implementing the required configuration to integrate new Mobile node

 Pereforming IP configuration audit & IP Network Optimization solutions to ensure the


service quality & enhance network performance.

 Knowledge of Juniper routers (i.e. M120, M320, MX960 &T640), Cisco router (i.e.
ASR9K), Huawei routers (i.e. NE40 , NE5000), Ericsson routers (i.e. SSR).

 Knowledge of Mobile Core nodes including switches of different vendors.


 Working experience on MPLS, Multicast, BGP, OSPF, VPLS, L2VPN, L3VPN, VLAN,
STP, LAG, VRRP, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, LDP, RSVP, BFD, STP and switching technologies.

 IP Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIP, JNCIA , ETCP would be given preference .

4 Key Qualifications
 Degree within Electrical Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering / Computer Science /
Computer Engineering.

 3-5 years experience

 Knowledge of Managed Service telecom operations practice
