Terms & Conditions for LPU - Scholarship, its Different Phases and EDB

1) Scholarship, and different phases of Fee / Scholarship (including EDB) are applicable for Indian Applicants only.

2) Grant of Scholarship/ EDB in different phases is subject to prevalence of Scholarship/ EDB Scheme at the time of receipt of application and is further subject to verification and authentication of the information, certificates and other documents as required by the
University.

3) Percentage in the Qualifying examination represents percentage of aggregate marks and in case of Programmes after 10th and 10+2, calculation of aggregate marks will be done considering best five subjects (with highest marks) in the qualifying examination.
However the marks obtained in subject(s) prescribed under the respective eligibility criteria of LPU for the concerned Programme must be taken into account for calculation of aggregate marks. This clause is applicable for calculating eligibility as well as Scholarship. If
student is not able to satisfy the eligibility criteria as per the criteria mentioned above, then all the subjects registred for the purpose of qualifying exam may be considered for calculating aggregate marks for eigibility only and not for offering Scholarhsip.

4) For applicants qualifiying eligibility exams from LPU, the scholarship on the basis of marks in Eligibility qualification may be awarded as per the following :
Scholarship in the bracket of 98% or more marks may be awarded to applicant who have obtained 10 CGPA.
Scholarship in the bracket of 90% to 97.99% may be awarded to applicant who have obtained 9.5 CGPA or more.
Scholarship in the bracket of 80% to 89.99% marks may be awarded to applicant who have obtained 8.5 CGPA to 9.49 CGPA.
Scholarship in the bracket of 70% to 79.99% marks may be awarded to applicant who have obtained 7.5 CGPA to 8.49 CGPA.

5) In case of Post Graduate and lateral Entry programmes where Scholarship is available on the basis of Eligibility Qualification or on the basis of Qualification previous to eligibility qualification, the following shall be taken into consideration:
a) In case the applicant has completed an integrated / dual degree programme and the concerned university has specified same percentage of marks/grades for the lower as well as higher degree/ diploma, then the marks of one step previous qualification may be
considered for awarding Scholarship.
b) If in certain programmes same year /semester is considered for awarding two different degrees / diplomas, only one (higher degree) will be considered for awarding scholarship. Example: For M.Tech. CSE, student with MCA are eligible for admission. In certain
distance education MCA programmes, after graduation applicant takes admission in MCA but after 1 year he is awarded PGDCA, and after 2 yrs. M.Sc. (Computer Science) and after 3 years MCA. So such a student might have PGDCA as well as M.Sc. (Computer
Science)/ MCA. Only MCA degree in such case may be cosnidered for scholarship.

6) Scholarship is offered at the time of Admission only and may be offered on different basis like Scholarship on the basis of Sports, on the basis of cultural performance or on the basis of marks in qualifying exam etc. Applicant can claim the Scholarship on any one
basis and the claim for Scholarship / EDB can be made only at the time of filing Application for Admissions or before the date prescibed by the University subject to the last date of Admission with Scholarship for the concerned Programme. In case applicant has opted
Scholarship of one type (i.e. on one basis) or has not opted for Scholarship at all, then change in the Scholarship type (basis) so claimed will not be allowed and claim for the Scholarship/ EDB will also not be allowed at later stage.

7) Scholarship will be awarded to the student only after the verification of original documents. In case student is not able to provide the documents within the stipulated time as prescribed by the university, subject to maximum of 6 months from the last date of admission,
then scholarship will be cancelled.

8) In case, an applicant is eligible for Scholarship Scheme as well as for any other monetary benefit under any other scheme or policy of LPU, then he / she has to opt for only one scheme of his/her choice. However applicant can avail EDB in Phase - I (i.e. fee of last
year) along with other benefits offered by LPU.

9) In addition to LPU Scholarship, if a student gets scholarship from a Government/ NGO/ any other organization, then LPU Scholarship will be restricted to amount obtained by subtracting outer agency Scholarship (from a Government / NGO / any other organization)
from total applicable fees (including Examination fee and charges for residential/transport/food /laundry facility, If any, subject to maximum for a non-AC three seater residential facility). Total Applicable fee will be excluding any EDB and Scholarship amount offered by
University.
Example:
Fee of B.Tech Programme is Rs. 89500/- per semester (i.e. 1,79,000/- per year), Exam fee is Rs. 3000 (for two semesters) and the hostel fee for two Seater Non-AC (Boys) is Rs. 69500/- per academic session and charges for food faciliy and laundry are Rs. 26000/-
and Rs. 2950/- respectively. If a student (boy) enrolled in B.Tech and with a 2 seater Non-AC hostel receives a scholarship of Rs. 1,00,000/- per year at the time of admissions and later on also gets a Scholarship of Rs. 2,00,000/- per year from some outer agency , then
the maximum entitlement for scholarship offered by LPU for such student shall be Rs. 65,450/- per year, obtained by subtracting Scholarship from Outer agency i.e. 2,00,000/- from total fee of the programme i.e. Rs. 2,65,450/- (1,79,000/- + 54,500/- + 26,000/- + 2,950/-
+ 3000/- = 2,65,450/- ). Important point is that for calculating total fee of the student, fee of 2-Seater hostel i.e. Rs. 69500/- per year has not been considered rather Rs. 54,500/- per year has been considered as fixed as maximum limit by the University.
