Sophia Amigurumi Giraffe

Sophia is a cute giraffe, perfect for little


hands to grab hold of and carry round.
Ideal for imaginative play and cuddling.

Materials: 1 ball Stylecraft Merry Go


Round dk, 3mm crochet hook, 9mm safety
eyes, toy stuffing.

dc - double crochet, 2dc - work 2 double
crochets into the same stitch (increases
by 1 stitch), dc2tog - put the hook into
the next stitch and pull the yarn through,
repeat once more, put your yarn round
the hook and pull through both stitches
( decreases by 1 stitch)

Tip: Count your stitches on each round!

Body
Chain 2, work 6 dc into 2nd Chain from hook (6)
Round 1 2dc into each stitch (12)
Round 3 *dc, 2dc into next stitch, repeat from * 6 times (18)
Round 4 *dc2, 2dc into next stitch, repeat from * 6 times (24)
Round 5 *dc3, 2dc into next stitch, repeat from * 6 times (30)

Rounds 3 - 9 dc into each stitch
Do NOT stuff. Fasten off leaving yourself a long tail to sew ears onto head.
When attaching the ears fold the ear in half at the wide end, then sew in position

Making up
Use the photographs as a guide, assemble Sophia, ensuring all pieces are sewn together
securely. Weave in all ends.
There you are - 1 really cute Giraffe!!
