With strong enthusiasm and high hopes, I am submitting my resume in response to your recent job
posting for Assistant Director of Early Childhood. In my role as Stamford’s Curriculum Associate for Early
Childhood over the last four years I have gained the administrative experience needed to take on this
position. Apples is a growing program with a diverse set of student needs, and I am passionate about
working with the staff to meet those needs.

I have gained intimate knowledge of the Apples curriculum and service delivery system in my current
position. I have also spent the last year participating in state-sponsored IEP compliance training. As I
progressed through this training, I began taking on more responsibility for managing PPT meetings and
updating IEP’s afterward. With an average of 1,100 PPT meetings each year at Apples, it would be an
asset to have an assistant director who is fully trained in the PPT process.

As the Early Childhood Curriculum Associate since 2016, I have developed positive relationships with
preschool providers across the city of Stamford. I have designed workshops for them, acted as a liaison
between Stamford Public Schools and their organizations, and assisted in any way I could to help their
students experience a smooth transition to kindergarten. In fact, one of the first projects I worked on
when I began at Apples was developing the Preschool to Kindergarten Transition Summary form. This
resource provides kindergarten teachers with developmental snapshots of each of their incoming
students and assists administrators when assigning students to classes.

The opportunity that this new position would provide is exciting. It would be an opportunity to continue
the work that I started as the Curriculum Associate, but would enable me to take it to another level.
With my organizational skills, dedication, attention to detail and passion to better the lives of all
Stamford’s preschoolers, I feel I would be a perfect fit.
