Synopsis

There was Rania Timur Samudra also called as Rania, the youngest of three siblings. She had
a dream to fly with a plane, but oneday she got an accident which cause her a concussion. At
first, she thought her dream was ended, and she would never have a slight chance to fulfill it.
But she never knew that the greatest chance came from God the almighty. There was a day
when her dad who became her first supporter gave her a book about the Muslim traveler, Ibn
Bathuthah. Her dad wished she could be his eyes to see the world. Then, the story of Rania
being a traveler was started. Along with her journey around the world, Rania also tasted the
journey how she went through a hardship about love, about choosing her heart among
anything.

Film’s Review Relating to CCU

 The Concept of CCU

When the film started, and adult Rania gave a naration about her life and how
her dream was revealed, you can say, her parents got involved in it. The way how
Rania said her father quotes about the train that will bring her fly one day, you can
taste, she looked up to her parents very much. Even, when she was abroad and
receiving a phone call from her mother that her father was ill, Rania rushed to go back
home. And when his father dies and she wasn’t there, Rania felt it was her fault that
she couldn’t stay by his father at his last breath.
The attitude Rania gives in the film is picturing the Muslim attitude towards
parents. Meanwhile when she felt bad on his father funeral day, it’s the way mostly as
children will react when they can’t stay by their parents’ side.
The other concept of CCU that I can explain and be put in the film is about
Hyun Geun. Hyun Geun was a man from South Korea. He is a Muslim, as what his
friend, Alvin, stated. But he did drink an alcohol. This scene pictures about how
mostly people life as a Muslim in South Korea, but they didn’t perform as a Muslim.
Hyun Geun family may be a Muslim, but when he touched an alcohol, it means his
life as a Muslim only on the surface.
And to mention about drinking alcohol, in the film you can find a scene when
Hyun Geun in a meeting with colleagues, there is an old man introduced as Hyun
Geun’s fiancée’s father, he poured a drink to the colleagues. Then, he asked his
daughter to fill Hyun Geun’s glass with soju (alcoholic rice water), when Hyun Geun
rejected, he said it will offend him as Hyun Geun didn’t drink the soju. From this
scene, I can conclude that drink culture is a bold culture in Korean society where
drinking an alcohol is part how you respect the other who ask you to drink.
 Pro and Con in the film
The pro in this movie is delivered by Rania. She as a Muslim woman boldly
says to all Muslim women that your dreams are no one to stop. As long as you have
your dream, you can reach it, but you must always believe that Allah The Almighty is
the one who grants every people wish and hope after their ikhtiar.
The con that can be counted in this movie is when Rania was inside Ilhan’s car,
they headed to the volunteer school. I don’t think that is a proper manner as a Muslim
woman to stay in one car with non-mahram.
5 Countries in 5 Continents I Want to Visit

1. Asia: South Korea

This one has been in my bucket list since I was senior high school. At first, I’m just
very attracted to its beautiful landscape. But when I was in my 1 st year in college, I
was thinking to pursue my master degree there in Kyunghee University. Kyunghee is
well known for its Music Major, but not to lose its sight that it has the best Global
Campus after Seoul National University. So I plan myself to come to South Korea one
day, and enroll to Kyunghee in its English Linguistics and Translation Studies
program.

2. Australia (Oceania): New Zealand

Recently, New Zealand becomes my first anticipated place to-go. It’s started when I
watched video about Quensland in Expedia Chanel on Youtube. New Zealand has
been known for its scenery, farm, aurora, and culture. Besides to go there only as a
student to pursue my degree, I really like going there to explore and learn more about
their land, culture and so on.

3. America: Canada
I think about Canada when America continent is mentioned. What I like about Canada
is its flag symbol, the maple’s leave. I really want to go there on the peak of Autumn
day and witness how the leaves fall one by one. It sounds dramatic, but that’s what I
dream of. Furthermore, I just know that Canadian culture is mixed of British, French
and American culture. So I’d like to learn about how the country could be very
diverse on its own.

4. Europe: Scotland, United Kingdom

This country has been my dream since I finished watching Harry Potter. Besides,
Scotland is really well known for its ancient architectur. Not only what I have
mentioned, Scotland becomes my dream when I decided that my first University to try
for my master degree later is Edinburgh University. The number one reason for me to
go there is for academic purpose and Harry Potter.
5. Africa: Egypt
Right, Egypt is the first country in Africa I’d like to visit. To remember about the
story of Prophet Musa and Fir’aun makes me choose Egypt to come first in this Dark
Continent. I believe, many Islamic history lies in this country.
